Sunrise Safari....

We will be doing the Sunrise Safari when we go in October and I was wondering if any of you could tell me your experiences. Was it worth the $$ to you? did you get to see a lot of Animals? did you like the food in the end?

It is a great tour. It is one of the best tours at WDW and is well worth the money. You get to see the animals close up and will learn a great deal about the attraction.

I also love the breakfast buffet at the end of the attraction.

I was thinking of upgrading to AKL from CBR just to do the Sunrise Safari. What is the charge per adult?

I don't remember the charge ($50 plus park admission?) but it was well worth it!!! The tour guide was great and the buffet (I hadn't expected too much) was incredible!! The cook even came out to tell us what each food item was. We had a great time and would do it again!!!

Keep in mind that the sunrise safari is only open to concierge guests at the AKL. It costs about $50 per person (I think a little less) and it is wonderful. We went into the park the back way and got to see the outside of where they keep animals, etc. Then got to board regular safari vehicles used in the ride. The difference was that we always stopped close to the animals and we were out right when they were letting animals onto the savannah area. We had three giraffees(sp?) get close enough to touch ... of course we didn't. Plus, at that time all the animals are out walking around. We saw just about everything that there was to see. It was fantastic. The breakfast at the end is yummy ... plus they tell you all about it since some of it is African cuisine. My DS(7) and my DH absolutely loved the tour. I even thought it was great and I'm not a big animal fan ... well worth the monies.

Keep in mind, depending on when you go (we went first of Dec) it can be cool in the AM so remember a sweater or jacket.
