Sunrise Safari vs Sunset Safari?

Hubby and I will be staying at the AKL Concierge in late May and want to do one of the special safaris, but aren't sure which to do. I've emailed the AKL and received some well meaning but confusing and difficult to interpret replies from Martha regarding the benefits of each safari.

I know the evening one is more expensive, has a lavish dinner and lacks small children. But, I have food allergies and am concerned about spending a lot on a dinner I may not be able to eat much of. (Yes, I'm familiar with working with the chef, etc)

I know the sunrise one is cheaper, but has more people and serves breakfast.

Is there any great difference between the non-dining (i.e. the animal) portions of the two safaris? The Sunset safari vehicle is different, I know, but are there any other major differences? Can anyone provide a compelling argument for choosing one over the other? Should we do both? The cost isn't an issue at this point.

Haven't done the Sunset Safari, but did the Sunrise Safari. The ride was excellent, no Little Red story, just facts. And a leisurely ride at that. Breakfast was excellent. You could take as much time as you wanted, but so many people hurried off to do the park. I thought the Sunset Safari was around the AKL savannah and not the AK park.

The biggest difference is that the Sunrise Safari occurs at Animal Kingdom, in the Kilimanjaro Safaris area, while the Sunset Safari tours the grounds at the Animal Kingdom Lodge.

The grounds of the Lodge? Does this make for better or worse animal sightings? That's all we're interested in is the animals.

I think the wildlife varieties are much more limited at the Lodge.

We went on the Sunrise Safari, and the animals were very active, and we spent lots of time stopping to get great views of them up close.
