What days are these offered?
What is the price?
What is the number to call to book?

TIA!!!

You can only book sunrise safari if you are staying in the concierge level. That can be booked right through the concierge person at AKV 180 days out. The sunset safari can be booked the same way, only you don't have to be staying concierge to do that one.

For members, the sunrise is $55 and the sunset is $160. There is that $5 discount for the sunrise, but no discount for the sunset.

When we took our Sunset Safari, we had people on it that were not staying Concierge, they had paid $210.00 PP. There is a $50.00 discount if staying Concierge.

I just went to www.allearsnet.com typed in safaris at the "search option" all the days of operation amounts etc all comes up, with pictures. It does have old information for booking, it is 180 days not 90. Hope this helps. I called the number that I have given you the other day, it is current. You will need a credit card when you book.

It can be difficult to reach them on the phone but I have had good luck with email: animal.kingdom.lodge.itinerary.planning@disneyworld.com I included my phone number in my email and they followed up by phone the first time, then by email after that. Whenever I contacted them by email I always included the name under which the reservation is booked, the confirmation number and a phone number where I could be reached. I also mentioned it was a DVC reservation because at that time they had to do something special to access DVC reservations.

Why such a huge price difference between the sunrise/sunset?
How different are the two? Is the sunset longer or more involved?

TIA

Having done the sunset safari, I can tell you that it includes dinner at Jiko and 3 different glasses of wine (one each with appetizer, main course, and dessert). When I did it, the whole experience, including the savannah tour and dinner took about 3 1/2 hours.

For the Sunrise Safari, they take you by bus through some of the backstage areas of AK to the Kilimanjaro Safari ride. You board the regular ride vehicles but they take you through much more slowly with lots of stops to discuss the animals and allow you to take photos. It is followed by a buffet breakfast. Admission to AK is required by not included so you need to produce a valid park ticket or AP prior to boarding the bus. They can accommodate a fairly large group (50 people?).

The Wanyama (aka Sunset) Safari takes place on the grounds of AKL/AKV. It's a much smaller group (up to 14 people?). A driver and guide take you out in a truck to spend about 30 minutes on each of the three savannas at AKL. They give you a lot of information about each individual animal and answer any questions you have about them. The truck takes you quite close to them so it's a very special experience. It is followed by a three-course dinner with a wine pairing for each course at Jiko, one of WDW's signature restaurants.

In each case, the price of the safari includes the tax and tip.
