Sunglasses etiquette???

well i think the setting of the picture is prety important too-
if its just a snapshot - no big to leave them on...
but if it a damily picture to share with everyone - OFF they go - NOOO way!

I actually HATE wearing ANY glasses!
(must be trauma from having to since grades chool! therefore the Lasiks)

Or wedding portraits! :rotfl:

My sunglasses are fairly dark. I always take them off when I go inside a building, but not really for ettiquette reasons. I take them off purely so that I can see. If I leave them on, they are so dark that it is hard to see inside. If it is just a "spur of the moment" picture, I leave them on. If it is a nice picture, like of me and my family or me with my cousin or whatever, I take them off. When I talk to people, if it is very sunny and I am outside, I leave them on. I know it may be considered rude by some, but I either leave them on and look at you or take them off and stare at the ground so that the sun doesn't blind me.

For the most part (except in WDW- where I wear contacts) I wear prescription sunglasses. If I'm running in and out of a store, I'll leave them on. If I'm inside for a long period of time I'll switch them for my prescription glasses.

I've also forgotten my reg. glasses sometimes, and am forced to keep the sunglasses on. If I run into someone in this situtation I'll usually leave them on so I can see, but I'll make mention of it so they don't think I'm being rude. (I've also just taken them off, been blind as a bat and continued on a conversation)

This too is my situation. There have been times when I've forgotten my regular prescription glasses and have been forced to keep my Rx sunglasses on or be blind as a bat! But I always make the person aware that I forgot my regular glasses and not just trying to be a Diva :smooth: :rotfl:

My eyes are very sensitive to the light. So if I am outside, I will be wearing my sunglasses. I'm sorry if you find it rude when I am talking to you, but I think you'd rather me wearing them and looking at you then me looking at the ground because the sun is in my eyes. I usually take them off once I get inside as long as I am not distracted. For pictures that are just quick snapshots I will leave them on because otherwise I look dopey with squinted eyes. If it's a formal picture I will try my hardest not to squint (but there are no guarentees ;) ). This thread is reminding me to go buy myself a new pair of sunglasses.

For 2006, we'll all see the trend of larger, darker sunglasses...Like what Jackie O always wore...

I guess I'm ahead of the trend, b/c I already have numerous pairs of these. I LOVE THEM!

I wear prescription sunglasses and wear them inside if I'm just running into a store to get something fast or if I've forgotten my regular glasses. I can't see well enough to just take off the sunglasses if I don't have my regular glasses. Once I forgot my regular glasses and had to wear my sunglasses at work. Only one person asked me why.

My Sunglasses this year, and wear them on Sunny :sunny: Days ONLY! They are VERY Dark, and I might get a lighter Pair in a few months! I LOVE my sunglasses and think I look :cool1: in them! ;)

Lol, I think I'd feel too Nicole-Richie-wannabe if I wore light-tint sunglasses all-around indoors. They look a little cooler casually propped up on top of my head. :teeth:

I think it's rude to leave them on if you are going to come face-to-face and need to converse with someone (checkout person, etc). My sunglasses are prescription, and if I take them off then I have to put on my regular glasses. If I'm going to be in the store under 5 minutes, I might leave them on as long as I can see okay with the tint. Otherwise, I take them off, put them in the case, and put my real glasses on. It's a hassle, but I don't want to be rude.

For pictures, I always ask people to remove their sunglasses. Who wants pictures of people where you can't see their eyes?? I don't even like it when celebrities do that.

I learned the secret to non-squinty eyes from one of the photograper CM's at Epcot. Everyone should close their eyes until whoever is taking the picture says "2" when counting to 3. If the photographer actually takes the picture on 3, then everyone's eyes are fully open.

I love sunglasses but in my opinion, it is rude to converse with someone with glasses on. I find it classless and tacky to leave them on for any kind of photo. I like the hint to keep your eyes shut outside until the picture is taken. That's a great idea. I also wear them on top of my head, especially if I am having a bad hair day :rotfl2:

I don't like sun glasses much. I wear normal glasses alot. When I get another pair I am gonna have my current ones tinted to have a perscription pair, that way I don't have to wrory with the ones I can see out of and the ones I cant.
