Sunflower question

Hi gardeners!

This summer for the first time I've been able to grow some sunflowers without the squirrels noticing and eating them! Unfortunately some ants have recently found them and are all over the stems and leaves. I was wondering if anyone could suggest how I can get rid of the ants without harming the plants!!!
(I don't normally rhyme but it's late!)

Ants are usually a sign of aphids. You could just spray with the hose this usually removes the aphids, but they will probably return.

An all purpose garden dust will do the trick. Try not getting the dust on the blooms. Dust in the early morning or evening to prevent harming bee's.

Things like ant, ladybugs, dragonflies, prayingmantis, wasp, spiders and many other bugs are great backyard insects. They devour the insects that eat our plants. Unless I am having a real problem with an insect I usually let mother nature take care of it.

As long as the ants don't harm the sunflowers I'm comfortable leaving them there.
