Sundown Mingle

Just got our invite for the Sundown Mingle taking place for DVC members staying at Animal Kingdom Lodge. Looks like this hasn't been discussed since last August. Anyone have an recent experiences they would like to share?

We enjoyed it, took about an hour, there were a few give aways, and a 100 dollar credit. There was also drinks and food. Consisted of chatting to other attendees, eating and drinking. No sell of add on etc. The children were also taken off to spot animals around the resorts, craft and music activities which they really enjoyed. I would go again.

I just won a $100 Gift Card at this past Monday's reception.
They now do not give resort credit, but give out two $100 Gift Cards.

Be up on your Disney trivia to win a DVC hat and try to stand directly in front of the area where the drawing is held, to get the CMs attention when raising your hand.

Be in a joking mood as the CMs try to be funny and if you play along it can be fun. If you are feeling bad, then the jokes get old/tiresome very fast.

My DW & I went two weeks ago.

Basically they have some veggies and dip, pot stickers, some type of bad triangle shaped breaded pockets stuffed with fake crab. They also have sunset punch, iced tea and lemonade.

The host makes some small talk speech and then asks the attendees to mingle with someone they don't know for a few minutes then the host asks who learned an interesting fact about who they meet. They do this three times and then they pull a winner or two for a $100 gift card.

All in all okay, we figured we would do it once and see what it was like but in the future we would not plan on attending.

How have I not heard of this? I'll be at AKL in july and would love to go? Time? Place? Jambo? Kidani?

Held on Monday evenings 5 - 6.
Reservations must be made in advanced at the DVC desk.
You can be staying at either Jambo or Kidani but the mingle is held at Jambo on the third floor overlook, where the rocking chairs are at during the other times. If there are enough people signed up they will split the group into two and use both overlooks.
