Sunday the 13th storms

As AP memers we went to the Enchanted Oak tavern to wait for HHN. THen the storms came. I was at the DD's enterance and asked the lady if the coasters were going. She calls her lead and before I could get an awnser she moved me to saftey, as the horrible winds brought Studio 666's platform down right behind us. Then the rains came. Around DD was all flooded. The doors to the Enchanted Oak Tavern Opened and water rushed in. There were 4 inches of water in the Tavern and a foot and a half of water outside. People didn't know what to do. After the rains stopped, we walked around the park. Everything had problems. Trees were down. branches were scattered. Least at 6:10 we could leave the discovery center for the park.

I too went to HHN last night, but i did not get there till almost 7.
One of the workers told me that it was actually a funnel cloud that touched down. On the way there, we stopped off to eat on International Drive and it was chaos, hanging stoplights were on the ground, street signs that were cemented into the ground were uprooted, cops and firetrucks were everywhere. And tree limbs were all over the place, it looked like what florida looks like after a hurricane.
But it was still a great night, the stormy weather lent to the scary atmosphere of HHN. best night i have had in I dont know how long. : )

when i walked in to work, i saw the Hulk net being taken down-it was destroyed! so now they're not allowing ANY loose items whatsoever. if it's loose and can be lost, stuff it in a locker. none of the scareactors went out till like 9pm or so (i forget the exact time) and a lot of the cool stuff the had was not put up or not activated. a friend who went last night called me later (130am ish) and we talked about HHN. his gf didnt want to accept what he was saying about the lack of scareactors in the area at first. he said it was cuz of the weather. afterall, rain + makeup doesnt mix. plus some of those costumes will get ruined in the rain.

WOW, a funnel cloud? Anyone get hurt? Sorry it rained on your parade, UO doesn't usually give rain checks. The Hulk ran for months before they put up a net, what's the big deal? That much rain inside Enchanted Oak?!! I've never heard of such a thing! I am honestly stunned!

especially on a day like sunday. it depends a lot on how long the storm was and how severe. on a day like sunday, you know there had to be a good amount given out...

We were there Sunday night, too. We were at the park since noon, and had the stay and scream passes as well. That was absolutely insane. We rode the storm out in one of the shops in Suess Landing. When we first went out of the holding area (the backup restaurant?) I must say that the storm and its aftermath did add to the spookiness of the whole experience. This was our first time to HHN, and we really enjoyed it - would have been nice if we hadn't gotten the torrential rain, but I was impressed with how the staff handled the situation. The lightning show while we were in line for the Screamhouse was a nice special effect.

I worked in Guest Services for years at UO, they might give you passes to come back, but your money back...only if you pitch a fit!
Unless they've changed since I left, rain checks were in the form of passes to come back at a later date, and then only if you really complained!

You should have seen the view from the Mythos VIP room. There were waves on the lagoon that one could surf on! The wind was gushing so hard that it was bellowing between the cracks of our glass doors! Then the hail came...I knew there had to be a funnel cloud osmewhere. Fortunately everyone was alright, but I was soaked to the bone. Oh well.
