Sunday Ride Event...

I think the best way to sum up my opinion is this -

First and foremost - Thank you vmk for the free pieces. We really appreciate it.

However - Would it have been that difficult to tell us that we could have gone about our lives on Friday and Saturday and still recieved the same free pieces on Sunday?

I believe that this type of lack of information is what frustrates players more than anything.

Yes, we know - the game is free so we don't have much recourse, but we ARE human beings on the other side of the little avatars. It just would have been a nice thing to let us know all the ride-a-thon information so we could have scheduled activities in our lives accordingly.

Thanks again for the free stuff - it just would have been nice to come along with some consideration.

Ok originally I thought that some rides gave particular pieces however it has been random to some extent. Therefore please close this thread as it is no longer applicable.

I have to say I am very happy about today, I had a total of 5 pieces from friday some from a trade. I know it stinks for those of you who spent the whole day Friday getting them, I would probably be frustrated too. I have to say thanks though. I will have enough of them to make a decent ride for the contest now.

Silver is the room I used yesturday since there were no switch doors. I have gone through twice now and gotten one of each both times. Ill edit if I don't get 2 again, I'm on the ride now.

EDIT: I got one of each again.

Wow DD - what a perfect way to sum it up! Yes VMK, thank you for free. That is nice. And about the communication, DD said it best above! :teeth:

I didn't realize until this morning that there even were uphill pieces being given! I put all the downhill pieces in my room to make room for more and there was only one uphill. I didn't realize they gave each: up and down. :confused3

What a sad day. VMK how could you not change the pieces? Make all of us, whether we rode once, or spent 5 hours straight each of the previous days, to only wave in our faces what "fools" we were to have done that.

Yes, I was one that spent 5 hours straight both previous days, as I was collecting pieces for others that were not able to be here. Now today, I could have spent half that time! :furious:

Okay so they were free the past two days, but I would have just as well preferred to have had to pay today, just to have a different piece!

I agree. To those who say it's "free" and we should just be glad, please note that unless you place zero value on your time, it is not "free." We were trying to express disappointment in the way they disrespected our time so much by making us pay double the time to get the same items. Or another way to say it is that there was disrespect in not bothering to let us know what they were planning so we could plan accordingly, as has been stated by someone else in this thread.

In other news, I am glad they took the stupid gate puzzle thing off the cyan end room, but they still have one in the red ride to stymie those who get randomly bumped from the ride. What are your favorite colors to ride? Which ones would you avoid at all costs?

I ride Silver and Gold since there are no switch doors. Today Silver is giving one of each piece, so it's a win win for me. Sorry to the rest of you who rode and rode to get all those pieces Friday. You'll just have more to gift, trade, sell, or store though.

Here's a quick guide to the different ride rooms. Magenta, Blue and White have Switch doors so you may wnat to avoid those. Red and Purple are okay unless you get knocked off going into the second room, then you have to go through a switch door to keep going. Green and Orange have the Tool Booths that aren't charging anything. Silver, Gold, Cyan and Black are easy too. So stick with Green, Orange, Silver, Gold Cyan and Black and you should have no problems.

I have been riding Orange most of the day, and sometimes I get just a downhill ride piece and sometimes I get both. :teeth:

Ok for everyone complaining think about this.....

even if you knew that both pieces would be available today, you would STILL have been on VMK Fri and Sat anyways.

We couldn't have said it better DD...Oh yes we do very much appreciate the FREE peices and say Thank You VMK! But just as you (vmk and staff) value your time ..we do to! We all have families and with the holidays coming up.. it would be really nice if your would remember that in the future for us. I know it might seem like we are complaining a bit much...but all we are asking is that if your going to repeat an event that maybe you would let us know.
Again we do appreciate all your hard work and the cool things you come with for us here at vmk... :)

Yes, but I wouldn't have been wasting my time doing the Ride-a-thon. I'd've been playing Fireworks for creidts or hanging out in one of my rooms trying to make a trade. ;)

Green also has the second room switch door if you get knocked off.:)

I had been warned off of Magenta and White because of those puzzle gates, but I finally tried them and am glad I did, because design-wise they were the coolest! Check them out while there is still time. Not the easiest to ride, but aesthetically pleasing :)

P.S. I thought long blonde hair and a red top would go well with the Santa hat, but judging from the other riders, so did half of VMK, lol. So I had to change to a green and white top to tell myself apart from the others :rotfl:

Don't you mean you wouldn't have wasted your time testing the ride-a-thon? Friday morning was quite a challenge.

My reaction to today's prizes? I laughed so hard! Yavn got us good and it's not anywhere near April 1st! :thumbsup2 When I finished laughing, I rode a gazillion times more until I had 100 sets of up and down pieces. Then I spent almost all of my remaining credits on two Space Mountain rooms to store them in - I figure I'll use the rooms if I make a ride for the competition. Then I found out you can only fit 99 pieces in the Space Mountain rooms. Right now, I'm so thankful to be insane because otherwise I would have been driven there from this ride-a-thon. :rotfl2: :rotfl2:

Seriously, I'm glad I was able to get the pieces without spending credits. I liked seeing the rooms and experimenting with the new doors and switches. I absolutely love the way the rockets float over the tracks. I keep hoping to float around the room! :thumbsup2
