Sunday HH Bicycle Availability

We're going to HH for one of those Sun-Thu night vacations, and will be arriving around 3pm Sun, Jul 8 2007. Do we have any chance of renting 4 adult bikes by that time? If slim to none, should I go ahead and reserve from outside Disney? Are outside companies cheaper or more expensive?

We arrived the same time last year and our rental turned into quite a fiasco. Disney was out and the company they referred us to delivered bikes that were in pretty bad shape. We ended up returning those and were refunded. We got ours from Palmento Dunes Outfitters (right on the way to the beach). They were new bikes and we paid about $100 for the week for an 2 adult bikes, one tag-a-long and a children's bike.

We just returned. Disney is two bikes for $50 for the length of stay if you are a DVC member. Each additional bike is $20. You can rent them near the pool from the activities guides/life guards. It was easier for us because my dh was not there if something went wrong. They close at 5 so just get to the pool area before that and you will be fine. The front desk may be able to call them for you when you check in and make arrangements.

This is probably the busiest time of year, but get down there early... if not Sunday, then EARLY Monday. You might not get a basket for you're bike, but I think you'll get a bike (or 2). I think they open at 10 am.

We were there the week after Christmas '06 and the resort was out, however we were sent to Palmetto Dunes and they gave us the same price as Disney. We paid 50.00 for the length of stay for 2 bikes and 10.00 for each additional. We had 4 bikes and only paid 77.50 for 6 days (tax included). The bikes were in great shape. Have a great trip.
