I'm in the process of planning our trip for late November/early December. I always thought Sunday was a fairly quiet day in the Magic Kingdom. The UG is listing the Magic Kingdom as a park to avoid on Sunday, December 4. Does anyone have any idea why that might be?

Thanks!!!

Say it ain't so!!! Bought our MVMCP tickets with AP discount for 12/4. Read on another thread that Sundays were not bad in terms of crowds for MVMCP. Will the taping affect our enjoying the parade and other shows at the MVMCP? If yes, can I change my MVMCP tickets for another day? (have them with me now, was mailed to us)

I posted in another thread running around about the parade, but I'll post info here too. Last year we left the MK because of the chaos from the parade. Once they finished taping and all the extras were allowed to roam the park for free, it got VERY congested and we left and headed to EPCOT. But we came back that evening for Wishes and the park was completely dead, walked on to just about every ride. It seems that all the people that were up at the crack of dawn call it quits early - they're too tired to last very long. This was on Saturday, not Sunday - so I'd imagine Sunday was even quieter.

SO I think you'll be fine for MVMCP . . . for two reasons. A good portion of the people in the park that day are there for free and probably won't pay to stay the rest of the night. And anyone that *would* pay to stay for the night is probably going to be too tired to last until the party starts.

We have done MVMCP the last four years on Sundays and the crowds have always been very managable. We will be doing the party on December 4 too.

I thought in prior years that the main taping was on Saturday, not Sunday.

They have not officially announced the parade for this year, so it's possible it will not even be taped that weekend, so don't get excited yet. When I was there in 2001, it was taped on a Thursday.

If it is the taping of the parade....go! We went last year for our first day ever at WDW (a Saturday.....taping was Friday and Saturday last year I believe) and we were able to walk on all of the popular rides with no wait at all for about the first 2 1/2 hours of the morning! Adventureland, Fantasyland, Tomorrowland were all basically empty--it was like a ghost town!!
Everyone was watching the parade---it was great to just walk on all the rides as we had been told we would have to wait quite long. Then we saw celebrities as they waited in line for their turn for the parade...our 4 kids thought it was so cool to see how long it took to tape the parade and then to see how things had changed when it was broadcast on TV.
As I said if it is the taping.....we loved it!

I'm planning MK that day to. What are a bunch of extras needed for. Do they block off part of the parade route for the shoot?
