Sunday after Thanksgiving - AKL

We'll be arriving the Sunday after Thanksgiving (no children) and staying at the AKL (savannah view). How is the resort, crowds, and pool at that time? What should we expect?

Hi - Alot of people will be leaving the Sunday after Thanksgiving so by afternoon the resort should be pretty quiet. We were at Disney last year at that time and it was great. You will have a wonderful time. That week and the 2nd week in Dec are our favorite weeks because of low crowds in the resorts & parks. By the way, AKL is my favorite resort.

We arrived at AKL the day before T'giving this past year and were upgraded to Savannah view(I figured they would be booked and this would not be possible!). Did not seem crowded at all. Lots of empty tables in Mara and the pool was not crowded as well. Only 2 other children decorated cookies with DD on Thanksgiving day. We easily got rockers for storytelling 15 mins beforehand.
We even have pictures in the lobby with just our kids in them. So I imagine by Sunday, it would be even less crowded.
We did have a room at the end of the hall and had no foot traffic/noise by our room-seemed like we had that Savannah to ourselves!

Look for a tall, 55-year old guy with a very short haircut, thinning on top. I'll be accompanied by my wife who bears no resemblance at all to me. We'll be the ones with huge smiles on our face.

Our son is in college and our daughter has graduated from college. This is our first trip to WDW w/out them. I think it will seem a little strange, but I know that we'll adapt quickly. See you in November!

Dana 49--We have a son in college, too. Our daughter has also graduated from college and is expecting her first baby! DH & I started making solo trips a few years back when DS started college. We love the time together! We make mini trips with the kids from time to time whenever they can get away. You will enjoy your trip at the AKL. DH & I stayed there last Dec.
