Hi Everyone. Sounds like a really silly basic question but me and DW ( both in our 40's ) have been coming to Disney and DVC for years. Over the last 5 years I have a progressive medical condition so I am now disabled and on a med that lowers my immune system ( no pool hopping for me lol ). thank goodness for Disney the trips keep me going! plus Disney are so good about my mobility and requirements! anyway...my skin is now very sensitive to the sun. Not something I had before. We aren't blessed with children sadly but the consultant said 'get a suncream for yourself that is very good for kids'. But not having kids I don't know what brands etc you have found the best? Any advice? Tia.

I'm not sure what brands you have in the UK, but i use sunscreen for kids myself, and I love Neutrogena's Pure & Free for Babies. Amazing stuff! Keeps my skin looking great and sun burn free. I am in my 30's and I live in Florida, so I use it year round.

Try to find brands like that, any natural products that are paraben free. Don't get just any sunscreen for kids. A lot it is utter garbage, like Coppertone's Waterbabies.

A few other good ones would be Mustela, Alba, and the new one Disney sells at their resorts and online at the Disney Store. :)

Hi,
Sorry to hear about your condition.

My DS7 is a red head and very fair so I have to make sure he has a very good sun cream.

I have been using the Banana Boat Kid's spray (Factor 50) on him and I have never had a problem with sun burn. I usually top him up after he's been in the pool and at lunchtime just to be on the safe side.

Generally - most Kid's sun creams are good as long as you go for the factor 50 plus.

I hope that helps.

Thank you. We rent a car as soon as we get to Orlando so I could wait till then and get it from Walmart or target if they sell it. I have had Neutrogena before and get on well with it :-) thank you for your kind reply.

Hi,

We are all pale and interesting.:rotfl:

Consultant actually referred to dd s skin once as almost translucent!!

We like nivea factor 50 for babies and children here.

And from target or Wal-Mart banana boat cream or spray (in a pink container) factors 50 and over, for babies is what we buy.
And we shall be buying some next week!pixiedust:

Hope you and your dw have a wonderful trip.:thumbsup2

Paula,

We fly next Fri morning, and I can't wait!

I'm pale,but yes,dd takes it to a other level.

Actually, last year we were sitting at dhs waiting for the boys, and a lady came over and asked if we were from England? She said she knew from our colouring!:lmao:

Hope you find a product which suits your skin and smells nice too.

When are you and dw going?

:banana::banana:

I am rather giddy!!:rotfl:

Oh,your itinerary sounds truly magical, and for your birthday too, that's fab.

We've stayed in 2 bed villas at okw and ssr,but preferred okw, even though they were both great.
In fact,we would've returned to okw if Disney hadn't raised their prices to silly amounts.:confused3

I only share with Disney enthusiasts (ie mad folk!) But how we overcame not being able to afford okw,but still having onsite fun and privileges, was to book a townhouse at the same time.
Most people would not understand that at all,but it worked a treat.
So we had free dining, parking, emh and a fun time at por,but also had privacy, facilities and space in the townhouse.
And still much cheaper than a 2 bed villa.

So that's what we're doing again, only booked pofq this time.;)

My dream vacay would be a split stay between blt,akl (with a Savannah view) and okw.
Maybe one day.

I can see how that works out! Sounds wonderful! I haven't tried blt yet but would love to. We tried AKV in May. Omg fell in love with it! We went to view OKW ( love resort nosing ) and really liked it so decided that we will try that next year with AKV :-) we hope to get hospitality house as being disabled it would be ideal.

We stayed at POFQ and loved it. Stayed there the year we bought into DVC actually. Really love that resort. Great food court I think it has one of the best ones imao.
