Anybody else look for a fill-up before returning your rental only to start pumping and realize you've been had?

It's just outside Hertz' return, apparently has changed names (wonder why?), and I don't believe it has a sign out front with the price. Beware!

Look at the numbers inside the pump window before pumping. If you don't like the numbers, get back in your car and drive out.

Returning to airport from Disney take I-4 east (northeast) to 528 (Beach Line fka Bee Line) east, get off 528 at its Exit 9 Tradeport. Left and cross under, nice cheap gas station is right there on the left.

Exiting that gas station head north in middle lane (528 crossing over is in your rear view mirror). Required right onto McCoy, about a mile later is Semoran where you won't need the expensive gas stations. Right for airport, left for Hertz.

I got hit with their overcharges when we pulled out of our car park spot and were getting ready to head south for 3 1/2 hour drive.

I stopped at 6 gallons, we were on ether at that point and finished toppi off in Lakeland for $ 2.69.

I filed a complaint with the Better Business Burea today and will follow up with them if I don't her soon.

I am asking that Suncoast be required to credit all over charges, that are credit card paid, for the years 2007-2008-2009.

I am estimating that the total they have stolen by misleading ( none ) information is negligent.

When I hear back from them I may be setting up a separate email address to collect information that would allow for a class action suit.

Go for it! Those dirty, rotten... If you have little time to return the car and catch a plane, you may not have a choice to get back in your car and drive out.

Since then I have always specifically planned my return gas stop.

The prices this morning were 4.69 for regular gas. Hi-test was 4.99. If you had driven down another block past the second stop light you would have seen a 7/11 selling regular gas at $2.67 or a Mobile selling gas at 2.69 per gal. They are at the intersection of Hoffner Road and Semoran Blvd., if you are getting a map from Mapquest.

Once getting the gas you can immediately head back south to Hertz with no misdirection or time lost.

If you need any help in getting information PM me. I am in that area all week.

I use the Hess stations on site before my return every trip. Always priced well.

You're going to be waiting a long time to collect on that. Fact is that there is no Florida law requiring any gas station to post their prices anywhere except on the pump itself. If you didn't see a sign with the price then why didn't you look at the price when you pulled up to the pump? That was your own negligence. They certainly weren't negligent.

I am not condoning this gas station's pricing. They are consistently the highest priced gasoline at Orlandogasprices.com/gasbuddy.com. There have been newspaper articles about them. They are not breaking any law. Their response is that their price is cheaper than what the rental car companies charge you if you don't come back full and thus their customers save money by being able to fill up before returning their rental cars. For European customers, the price is much lower than what is paid back home.

So get over it already. The price was posted on the pump, you didn't look until it was too late and you got ripped. Lesson learned. You'd best use your efforts to pass a law in Florida requiring the posting of prices on a sign. Now THAT would serve a public purpose.
