yesterday i went swimming with a couple of friends... and i thought id be ok.. but OH NO! i reapplied like twice which i kno i shouldve done more... but boy am i in PAIN!! where is my aloe vera??? i hope i dont skin cancer, because i read that sunburn damages DNA... oops. ill just be really cautious for the rest of the summer...! OWW :sunny: darn sun...

Ouchy:( I feel the pain...............sunburn can really sting hey?

Hope it goes down soon.::yes:: :sunny:

Get some aloe vera gel, or lotion with aloe in it!!! Feel better! Sunburn stinks! :headache:

Had a sunburn so bad once that Doctor gave me a cortisone shot.

Besides aloe, maybe advil or aspirin to knock the pain and inflammation down a notch. Also wet cool towels.

It really is stinky, but you could try vinegar to take out the sting. Had to do this once when I went to the beach on the hottest, sunniest day of the summer with pasty white skin. My friend thought I needed an SPF 4 tan accelerator. Bad advice.

So I soaked towels in vinegar and draped them over my legs. It did help...but again...really stunk.

Hope you feel better soon,

Liz

vinegar really helps. Also tea bags after they cool a bit, and strong tea.

Just got home from a wedding, trying to save money on gas and used the sun roof...now one arm is fryed! The other is fine. Yikes! I've had sun poisoning before. Aloe with Lanocane (sp?), the blue stuff is a little better than the regular green. I used vinegar once on cotton balls and it did nothing. Hmmm

I never realized that you should be using about 1/4 bottle per application to be adequately protected these days! Since no one I know uses that much you are actually only get half the sun protection noted on the bottle (i.e., if you buy a 30, you're really only protected to a 15 spf unless you use the 1/4 bottle!)
