Are there any ways in addition to aloe to make sunburns a little less painful and a little easier to deal with? I got cooked watching the football game yesterday (or half my face did anyway... ). I picked up aloe today, but are there any additional ways to make it easier to deal with?

Hawaiian Tropic has a sunburn lotion with lidocane in it. Don't remember the name, but it has a red cross on the front of the bottle, and it's a blue gel. It works wonders on a painful sunburn!

Oh, poor you! Sunburns are terribly painful. Aside from using aloe vera gel (and like the previous poster said it comes with lidocaine in it too) I recommend that you take cool showers twice a day, or if it is your face only then rinse it several times with cool water. That aloe lotion can build up and feel like "something" is on you. That's why rinsing or showering a few extra times makes your skin feel better.

You poor thing!
Back in my too-much-sun days I used to take Motrin after a sunburn. It really did help make me feel better. It is an anti-inflammatory so I think that makes it extra helpful.

Thanks everyone! It is only my face; the one arm that got color has turned tan (truckers arm too since I had rolled up my long sleeve short  ) I really appreciate the responses.

I use vinegar compresses for sunburn. It takes away the sting.
