Before we leave for WDW, I'm looking for sunscreen wipes in foil packets. (Like the moist towelettes you get in a restaurant after a messy dinner but with sunscreen on them.) I know they make them but I can't find them anywhere. Anyone have any idea where I can track these down?

MimiQ,
Thanks! I don't have time to order them online. Can you tell
me the name of the supermarket where you found them?

Thanks, MimiQ. Unfortunately, there's not an Ingles near us and there are none in Florida (so I can't pick some up when we get down there.) Anyone else know where I can find these things?
Didn't think they would be so hard to find.

I would think Walgreens would have them. You could look up the number online for the one closest to where you're staying (there's one on every corner basically, so that shouldn't be a problem) and call them and ask if they carry them. I know it's more trouble, but you'd at least know before you got there.

WDWAurora,
Walgreen's near us doesn't carry them either! I am amazed at how difficult these things are to find. I ended up ordering them directly from the website which MimiQ listed (Thanks, Mimi!)
and they are shipping them directly to our hotel.

I've been looking for these wipes myself. New York Walgreens doesn't carry them.....

I've been looking for these, too. Thanks for the website - I just ordered some for my upcoming trips. They are a bit pricey ($29.50 for 50 packets), but they will be SO convenient!! At least there were no added charges (no shipping or tax), so that works out to 59 cents per packet. With trips planned for August, October and next March we will probably use them up quickly!

I just ordered them, too, after emailing the company for more info and finding they're not sold retail in my state. A nice suprise was that there is no shipping/handling added to the price.

For anyone else who is still looking...

I saw them at Toys R Us and CVS.

I just went on the Smartshield website and noticed they were running a 2 for 1 special for KIDS sunscreen. I also noticed that their combo sunscreen and insect repellent doesn't have DEET. So it would be safe to use on children.

Thanks for the tip!

Just returned from WDW and we used these: Coppertone Water Babies with SPF of 45 in single use packets. They were GREAT!! I've seen them at Wal-Mart & Meijer in our area. Box comes with 12 packets for under $10. Don't remember, BUT they were not very pricey. Hope this helps ;)

Every store I go into, I check for sunscreen wipes of any type. New York must be out of the marketing loop, or else the wipes are snapped up fast. I have found nothing, but wish I could. What a deal on the Waterbabies!!!!!!

I was reading your post regarding Waterbabies and the great price.

Not really, if you figure it out, the Waterbabies comes out to .83 cents, where the SmartShield packets are .59 cents. Even though you have to purchase more packets, you will eventually use them. Its important to use sunscreen on your children everytime they go outdoors. I was reading that more than 20 minutes in the sun without sunscreen they are getting sun damage. I also read on the American Academy of Dermatology that you do not need more than a SPF 30, anything over could irritate their skin.

I'm always looking for a bargain, so I hope this helps.

I just came from CVS and they have the Waterbabies ones there too.

Math--it used to be my weak point and it is still my weak point! Thanks for the info!

Yes, I'm 100% serious. Make your own sunscreen wipes.

1. Leave the box open and let some baby wipes dry out -- choose a nice, thick wipe like Huggies -- not the cheap-o thin store brands. They dry out in no time.

2. Remove the wipes from the box and take some sunscreen (SPF of your choice) and mix it with some water in the plastic box. How much sunscreen? How much water? Some.

3. Put your wipes back in the box and squish them around to make sure that the sunscreen mixture gets between the folds. Allow them to sit overnight in the box so the sunscreen mixture is absorbed into the wipes.

4. Divide your sunscreen wipes into several ziploc sandwich bags. You now have plenty of ultra-cheap, highly portable sunscreen wipes.

Hands on time: Less than five minutes.
Savings: Bunches.

I have been looking for those wipes and I just went back to SmartShield's website and saw they have a new product!! A Towelette Canister that is priced at $9.99! It has 18 wipes in it, how perfect!

It looks like a great idea, and the cost comes out to about .55 cents. I'm going to try them out!
