Sun, Sand, and Disney!-A Disney and Beach Club PTR!!-Update 8/6 mini update

Thats so funny about the safari hat!! It def looks adorable on you! I loved seeing your honeymoon pics!! so adorable! and Disney looks amazing at Christmas time! I cant wait to see more!

It is funny about the hat. :rotfl: I remember when you went you said you and Shawn bought safari hats but I wasn't sure which one. I liked that one the best for me. Brian wouldn't get one though. You will love Disney at Christmas and you are actually going in December so you can see the candlelight procession at Epcot and the Osborne Lights at HS. When we were there they just had the decorations up and the MVMCP, they don't add the rest until after Thanksgiving. Are you going to do that yuletide tour while you are there like you were talking about?

It def. is the best kept secret. Regular dining is about $40 a day a believe and the deluxe was $70 a day. When we did the regular we were always worrying about having enough meals and paid OOP more times than I would have liked so we figured we would save with the deluxe. Yeah we loved Oct. too and I hear it is less crowded in September :cool1: . Maybe this year hurricane season won't be as bad but I think that it doesn't get to bad at Disney, or at least I hope, since it is inland. When are you able to make your dining reservations? I wish you could pay for the dining plan now and now when you get there.

That is a great site too! Thanks for putting that on there.:goodvibes

I didn't realize that Deluxe was only $70 a day--we might have to look into it for next time. I know--I like paying for things in advance. I've already made all of the big purchases besides the DDP... We get to make ADRs on

Do you know if we're allowed to call our resorts and talk with them about our ressies? aka to request a King bed or anything? I didn't know if EVERYTHING had to go through the DVC owner or not...

I hope hurricane season isn't bad--It would STINK to have our vacation be ruined by a stinking hurricane!

You're welcome--I found my info for DVC charts from a book I bought, but this has the same info. It's just easier for people to "see" the point system

Hi! Loving the PTR so far! I found you from Stacikristine's report...can't wait to read more! :thumbsup2

I do think everything has to go through the actual DVC owner. I called and asked a question about dining and they said I needed to have the person that I got the points from call. That seems like a hassle. You could always try and see what happens though. Hopefully you have better luck than I did.

Happy Birthday Nancy!!!

party: :bday: party:

Thank you! What fun smileys!

Thank you! I hope to post more soon I have been a little busy and have been neglecting my PTR. I am thinking of posting some of our wedding pics soon. Hopefully I won't bore anyone!

If you are staying in a Villa, then the bedding is set, there isn't any option to choose between. A king is usually standard in 1BR, 2BR and Grand Villas. The studios have a Queen bed and pullout sofa. At least this is the case in AKV.

Thanks! I think I read that somewhere. I know when we called they said they had handicapp rooms, we didn't need one so we didn't ask, but I wonder if those have king beds?

Thanks for this info!! A queen bed is absolutely fine with us. We just didn't want 2 queens--we'd rather just have one bed so it doesn't take up so much room! Thanks again!

I know I posted this before but I think it was missed. Has anyone ever eaten at Akershus Princess Story book breakfast princess: ? We were thinking of eating there one day. Now DH is not a huge breakfast person but I am. I was just curious what others thought of it and if you would recommend it. :goodvibes

Also, sorry I haven't had anything to update, the school that I coach cheerleading for had their try outs this entire week, so I have been there every night after work. Tonight are the final try outs so hopefully I will have an update this weekend sometime. Thanks for being patient!!!

I've never beek to Akershus so I can't comment on that, but breakfast with the princesses would be fun! We would have probably done if it we weren't doing CRT, but I can't make Matt sit through 2 princess breakfasts!!:rotfl:

That is what I figured too. We did CRT on our honeymoon, I liked it, but Brian wasn't a huge fan. I think that was more because he doesn't like getting up early and he isn't a real big breakfast person. I love breakfast and I love princesses, so I think it is the perfect combo!

Hi! I saw you commented on Lynn's PTR and I'm going to WDW the same time as you! I'll probably be starting my first PTR when I can make my dining reservations (June 22!). I just wanted to say hello and I'll be following along!

popcorn::

Hi! thank you for reading! I can make my reservations on June 21. I wish it was still 180 days because we could be doing it this month! I'll keep my eye out for your PTR, I can't wait to read it!

I know! I'm kind of annoyed they switched it to 90 days but at least now it buys me time to do some research. We want to try a few new places and there's just so many restaurants, I don't know where to start!

That is how I feel too. We are doing DxDP this time so we are trying new places as well. I love looking at the menus though to get an idea of the restaurant.

Looking at the menus is making me hungry! Especially when there's pictures of the food!

Any recommendations?

I always make the mistake to look at the menu's and pictures right before lunch. As for recommendations we love Le Cellier, Chef Mickey's, and Crystal Palace. This trip I think we are trying Hoop Dee Doo and Narcossee's.

I need a recommendation for a good Walt Disney biography book. I love watching all the specials on tv about Walt Disney's dreams and how Mickey Mouse came out. One Man's Dream is one of my favorite things in all of Disney World. Has anyone read any good books about Walt Disney that they could recommend?? Thanks!

 :dance3: 6 months from today we will be in Disney!!!! Woo Hoo!:dance3::banana:

I think we're going to try Le Cellier and maybe Crystal Palace. Hoop Dee Doo has been an idea tossed around too. Maybe we'll see you there!

I wrote a report on Walt Disney when I was in 7th or 8th grade. We had to write it in a biography format. I drew a picture of Mickey Mouse on the cover. I think my mom still has it somewhere, I have to go look for it. As for real biographies, I haven't read any about Walt Disney but I'll keep an eye out!
