Oh no, I wish I were there, too! I'm in the US watching the web cam and wanted to share the sunrise (so pretty with the early glow on the city) with someone who was hopefully awake.

Sorry to bother you again, I wonder if any of you have been to Gibraltar? How similar is their culture to Spain's? I just wonder if the tapas and sangria the birght sun on the white buildings is making me crave is actually found inside the buildings. Thanks

Not very similar IMO tho' I haven't been for a while so it could've changed. It's a bit of a haven for ex-pat Brits - they have UK shops etc there... Great view tho' and the tapas and sangria is only a few miles round the coast...

My DH used to go there a lot, as he was in the Royal Navy. Said it was a beautiful place.

Gibraltar is very small and has a big rock overtaking most of the landscape. We walked up it and it was very hot with lots of monkeys. Very British using UK pounds and extremely cheap as no tax. Very good for perfume, jewellery and of course drink. A bottle of vodka is cheaper than a bottle of water. Has British pubs and shops like Marks and Spencer and restaurants such as Pizza Hut. We stayed at the wonderful Rock Hotel and would definately love to stay there again. We drove here from the UK.
