Sun Country will begin service from Lansing, MI to Orlando in December. I'm looking at it for our Spring Break trip in April. I just love the thought of nonstop flights for us. We usually fly United or Delta. Sun Country is less expensive.

I have never flown Sun Country and have no idea if they are reliable, etc. Does anyone have any experience to share?

Sun Country is a nice, smaller airline based out of MSP. I have flown them many times and would always fly them if their prices were better out of MSP.

They are my perfered airline. We are using them to Vegas in December and WDW in Feb. Since they are employee owned everyone we have meet have been really nice. We also like the fact that you can upgrade to first class when you check in for $110. Sometimes their times are not the best but I can put up with that to not fly Delta.

We love to fly Sun Country. I prefer them over Delta anyday. Never had a problem with our flights and we fly them at least once a year to Orlando.

We are even using them for our Miami flights this December.

Thank you for the reassurances. This is really helpful.

Notice you are getting Minnesota people responding. Sun Country has always been an airline that uses MSP as its home and every flight started or ended at MSP. They are now expanding with non-stops out of Lansing........ I would fly them if I were you....

I just booked Sun Country out of Lansing for my January trip so I'm really glad to hear good things about them.:)

Yes, Duds, I did notice that everyone was from Minnesota. Turns out my sister, who lives near Minneapolis, flew SC to MCO a couple of years ago and was quite happy with them.

Part of my worry was what they do when, for example, a snowstorm comes up and they can't fly that day and then have no flights scheduled for a couple more days. The flight schedule is not like a legacy. I guess if you Minnesotans haven't had a problem, this Michigander shouldn't worry. Who woulda thought a "Sun Country" name was Minnesota?!

Love me some Sun Country! I would fly them every time if...
-They had better flight times for MCO
-Their prices were more competitive with Delta direct flights

I have flown them in the dead of winter to NY in a snowstorm. We were delayed but that wasn't a big deal. They did *temp* lose my luggage but found it once I was in NY and held it for me at MSP because my trip was only 3 days. That was my choice.

Once of the reasons I love them is purely a MN reason. They fly out of our smaller HHH terminal and it's much easier to navigate, calmer and more laid back.

Best of luck, they are a fantastic airline!

I'll try to make sure and post about my experience when I get back.
Home for me is in Meridian township although our mailing address is East Lansing.
I haven't flown out of Lansing for twelve years since I prefer a
non-stop flight so I hope that everything works out well.
