Today waking up was bitter sweet. We are leaving Pop Century but checking into our Rental House in Windsor Palms. Pop was okay overall, but like many have mentioned parking is a mess. We were up by 8:30 to begin packing and loading the car. We went to Everything Pop for breakfast. DH and I only had coffee and Jamilah has corn flakes and milk. Total cost: $7.20 (used Disney dollars). While Jamilah and I sat David got up and went to explore the Gift Shop. He came back with a Disney bag. He sat the bag on the table so I asked him what he got. “Nothing for you”, he said. He then gave me the look. He remembered!! I told this nut about wanting a Mickey Mouse watch. I can remember being in High School and Mickey watches costing $100. The nice ones are still pricey, and thank goodness he picked out one I can wear daily. He also pre-ordered Alladin on DVD for Jamilah and Mickey ears for us all. The DVD came with a free Alladin Lanyard with 2 pins. He used Disney dollars!!!! We check out – which was quick and head over to Orange Lake for our presentation and $100. Orange Lake was very close to Disney (right off of 192). We got there a little early – around 11:30am. It took 5-10 minutes to get our presenter (Crystal). She was very nice – even pleasant. She was quick and to the point. David made it perfectly clear that we were not interested in buying a timeshare and we were only there for the money. He did that with the best poker face imaginable. And it saves her “A” game sales pitch for someone with a chance. I will admit that the resort was very nice. Rooms were cute and roomy. It has its own “beach” onsite and water sports. If I had a $10,000 to blow we would have considered it – only drawback to this resort was they only had one resort!!! If or when we do buy I’d like to buy with a timeshare that has many locations across the states at least. The presentation was only an hour and we were given $120 cash. My deposit was only $10 so where did the other $10 come from. I don’t know, but the lady at the “gift center” said that was correct. Wonderful!!!!

After Orange Lake we head over to Amerihost to pick up my Universal Studios tickets. I bought these back in February on ebay. This guy was trying to get people in their store to convince them to go to a timeshare presentation so he was selling 2 – 2 day Universal star tickets for $29.95. Yes you read correctly $29.95. Amerihost was down the street from Orange Lake so DH and DD just walked in. We were immediately greeted and asked if we were interested in doing a Timeshare presentation for 2 additional tickets or $100. We decline and the guy says “okay” and said he will be right back with our tickets. As we waited on our tickets I overheard as this couple cry about a vacation they bought from Ramada (something). The vacation was paid in full and according to Amerihost manager was a rip off. Unfortunately, someone called their home told them about a vacation and sold them a bogus “dream vacation”. The wife was in near tears. I shook my head and thought about a phone call and mail I got from some company name Ramada Vacations a few years back. It is now like 2pm so David and I head to Villa Direct to pick up our keys for the Rental House (also on 192). Villa Direct was closed so I used the directions given to me by the owner and on the first try opened the lock. Locks are usually a problem for me. I have no luck with locks!!! I bet you can’t say that 6 times really fast – Luck with locks!!! I was supposed to give a deposit for the rental house (a $200 deposit), but they are closed so I guess I’ll come back Monday – if they call.

Again using the directions given by the owner we head to the house. The house is located off of Formosa Gardens. I actually passed the street when we went to Orange Lake. For those considering a rental home community – don’t hesitate another minute. All of the following are in prime areas. This is the order of the neighborhoods off Formosa Gardens. 1st Formosa Gardens, 2nd Arcadia Estates, 3rd Rolling Hills, 4th Indian Creek, and finally Windsor Palms. The communities are all within a mile of each other. All are well groomed and maintained. All are extremely close to Disney and off of I-4. The area is also flooded with many stores, restaurants, and soooo much more. The only thing I can think of that could be closer is a Super Walmart. There is a grocery store close, but pricey if you ask me.

As soon as you enter Windsor Palms the security desk asks you the address you are staying and then gives you a parking permit. Again we stayed at 8157 Sun Palm Drive in a 6 bedroom 4 bath - house with private pool. When we pulled up we immediately noticed the red truck in the driveway. We are a little early (check in is not until 4 pm- its about 3pm). I knock first and wait like 2 – 3 minutes for a response (okay more like 20 seconds), but I did wait before using the key. I opened the door and was greeted by at least 8 bags of trash and Hispanic-speaking women that knew very little English. Her husband comes out and tells me the house was very very dirty and will not be ready until 5pm. Apparently, they had lots of linen to wash. I direct him to the garage door that was hit. I wanted that damage known before we checked in. He calls someone on his cell and tells me to tell that person on the phone. I do that and was told to make that damage known on a sheet provided in my packet from Villa Direct.

We were hungry so we decided on Outback that was right on Formosa Gardens. On our way to Outback the Moore’s called and was extremely close after their second timeshare presentation at Westgate Villas (for $100 cash). By the time we were seated they walked in. Reminder: David is a vegetarian. Usually David creates meals at places like this and the check is usually small. I ordered the Salmon (my usual at Outback- $17). Jamilah of course ordered a childs meal. The total $71.08. Can U believe – at Outback!!! That $110 we just made was basically spent at one meal!!!! A good meal, but my goodness. The Moore’s total is only like $46. By the time we finished our desserts it was 5:30 pm so we head to the house. Guess what - he red truck is still in the driveway – but it seems they are pulling off. The Moore family and mine enter into the house. We look around for any damage that need reporting and were pleased to find none. The house looks like its pictures and I am pleased with my choice. The Hobbs just called and asks for directions. We give them the directions and begin to unpack. Reminder: my in-laws cancelled on us last minute so we have a really nice room occupied. James (Moore) asks if he and his wife can have that room and I tell him that he and the Hobb family need to work that out between them. The Hobb family arrives and takes a look around. Melissa and Chris both want other room too. Well, the room that Melissa and Chris paid for was an ensuite (with bathroom) downstairs and near the girls Disney room. My in-laws paid for the large room upstairs (but no ensuite). I was excepting Melissa to be the happy go lucky person I’ve grown to love so much. What I thought she would do is take Tammy in their room and “court” her into taking it instead of the room upstairs (originally for my in-laws)- instead Melissa says, “Well, shouldn’t the family that paid more money get the room!!” I was shocked!! With Tammy being pregnant with 2 small girls you would think she would want that room anyway, but to throw the extra $35 you paid – come on!!! I told Melissa I didn’t think that was fair and work it out like mature adults not teenagers. They do!!! Tammy would rather have Melissa and Chris’ room anyway. Nothing else was said!!! This was the room they were fighting over:

We all unpack, (the Hobbs go get food) put the children asleep and enjoy the evening watching the 2nd Season of Dave Chappelle on DVD!!!! All well that ends well!!!! So much more Drama to come!!!!
