hi
i am horrified that summit plummet will tear up my back. When ive watched youtube videos of it, it seems that it looks like some people get tossed side to side. Im a bit on the petite side and i am concerned I will get torn up on this slide
THanks:cutie:

It can be a rough ride. It's almost like a free fall for a split second. If you have a bad back already I wouldn't recommend Summit Plummet.

I am only 19 so my back isn't bad yet but I am quite boney on my spine so I just wonder if it would hurt. I am such a ride dare devil and would LOVE to ride it

Just keep your hands behind your head, your ankles crossed and arch your back a little so that most of the weight is on your shoulders and the heel of your foot. You go faster that way anyway and you should be fine.

I definitely felt like it bruised up my legs a little bit, but not enough to keep me from riding it again. Now the wedgie? That's another story....:lmao:

I did it once and that was enough. Bruised buttocks for several days. Wedgie like you wouldn't believe. Glad I did it, but won't do it again.

I did it a couple of times and am a medium built male. It does hurt your back (like a rug burn) but nothing that would stop me from going back. Basically, the worst that will happen is a red streak on your back and a decent wedgie. You only live once, take the ride!

I've done Summit Plummet only once. I got so freaked out once I started down the slide that I instinctively flung my arms out to the side and uncrossed my legs.

Lessons learned:
1. NEVER wear a two-piece bathing suit down Summit Plummet. Unless, of course, you want to make new (male) friends at the bottom.
2. NEVER uncross your legs on a speed waterslide unless you are in VERY close proximity to a bathroom. Chlorinated water rushing at your bum at 60 mph = bad, bad, bad.

You'll be alright doing it once or twice,if you have a real problem with your back then don't do it but if all you're worried about is the water stinging your back as you go down then don't worry.I did Der Stuka and Bomb Bay in Wet n Wild probably twenty times in one day when I was younger, they're basically the same ride just not as tall.Der Stuka is exactly the same with Bomb Bay being different since you step into a bomb like compartment where the fall drops off and you just fall down the slide. After doing those two slides that many times in one day I can't lie my back was a bit sore and from what I was told was a bright cherry red color.Summit Plummet has such a long line most of the time I doubt you'd be able to do it more than 2-3 times in a day.As others said just follow the rules and you'll be OK.

Wow, nothing hurt or burned on me at all. I crossed my arms across my chest and crossed my legs at the ankles - like the CM told me to (years ago). No problems at all.

The thing I wasn't expecting was the stinging of the water hitting my eyes - like sticking your head out of a car going 60mph in a rainstorm. There's no opportunity to "see" anything really. Maybe I should have worn goggles.

Just remember the advice to keep your butt cheeks squeezed tight so you don't get an enema - that would be way worse than a wedgie.

My 69yo father rode it about 2 years ago w/o any trouble.

I, though, did/will not ever try it. :scared:

It didn't bother my back, my tush on the other hand OMG I felt beaten up. Dh lagughed at me until he re-rode it later in the day and had the same issues. Fun none the less, just a little bumpy

We tried the smaller slide next to it (Crusher Gusher?). Still a very big slide.
Fun.
Light sting from the water, not really painful.

Try that one first.

I woke up the next morning with HUGE bruises on the backs of my legs after riding it (twice). It was fun but I haven't gone on since... a bit too rough for me.

I'm 5'2" and didn't have any trouble at all but I did have to have my suit surgically removed from my....well....you know where. :thumbsup2

I did this once and came off with a very bloody back that stung for the rest of the day. I am sure that I did not ride it correctly but when you are going down that fast it is hard to remember the rules. I would not ride it again.

Your back will fare better than your backside :lmao: I call it the wedgie ride - and that is being kind!

i have to agree with many other posters.

my whole family did the summit plummet and we all said the ride actually hurt and i was even sore for a couple of days.

i will probably do it again, but i am a glutton for punishment. the drop is really cool. you just pay for it afterwards

I rode five times the day I was at Blizzard Beach.

Never had any back issues, but the last time down I did hit the side and that night at the hotel I discovered a huge bruise on my hip/butt cheek.

:rotfl2: I'm sorry Miles, but your post is killing me!!! The visual...:rotfl:

I rode it once--ONCE...and I think that might be enough for me. I did have a one piece on and kept arms and legs in place (was too scared to move :scared1:) but that didn't stop the ultimate wedgie...no sir!
I don't remember my back hurting at all, though.

OP--go for it!!!! Just arch your back a bit if you're nervous about it.
