We're looking for a hotel that offers small suites, and is as close as possible to Disney Village. We've seen those listed above, plus Wellsesly, Buena Vista, etc. Can anyone help with a suite hotel that is moderately priced and very close to the Village?

We stayed at the Homewood Suites in Lake Buena Vista about
18 months ago. In other locations (not FL) we've also stayed at Sierra Suites and AmeriSuites (across from USF/IOA). We liked Homewood Suites better than the others. Unlike Sierra and AmeriSuites, the one bedroom unit at HS offers much better room separation. The entry room is a combo kitchenette (with full size refrigerator, microwave, coffee maker, toaster and stovetop range) and living area with a sleep sofa, recliner and it's own TV/VCR. The bedroom is completely separate (it has a real door to close it off from the living area). The bathroom is located off the bedroom area. We had a unit with 2 full size beds.

The Deluxe Continental breakfast at this hotel was one of the better ones we've had in that they also had some hot items such as scrambled eggs and breakfast meat (some days bacon, other days sausage). Overall we were very pleased with this Homewood Suites. I've seen some posts on the other Disney area Homewood Suites that indicated that they might not be quite as good as the LBV location. You may want to do a search
on that.

We also liked the location of this HS because it's right on Palm
Parkway which obviously has excellent proximity to WDW but also
allows you to get to USF/IOA without getting on I-4. Very convenient!

JMHO--good luck with your choice.

We stayed at the Summerfield Suites this past March...

2bdrm suite...wonderful setup....very close to the parks, great continental breakfast with options to purchase waffles and such....

If you go to the Wyndam site and become a wyndam member then you can get other specials....You an book a room within 21 days and get a 2bdrm for about $85 per night during most times of the year....at least last year...

I highly recommend it...

I second zurgswife on her Summerfield Suites recommendation. We were there this past march also - I think our dates were so close that we probably passed each other in the parking lot <Grin>.

The particular program that she recommends to join is the Wyndham By Request program. This link will take you there to join. Besides excellent discounts on Wydham and Wyndham affiliated properties a "by request" reservation offers selected ammenities, free room upgrades (if available) and free local & long distance calls, plus free high speed internet service. All in all , a pretty good deal.

Thank you for your input, we appreciate it!!! Actually, we stayed at the Sheraton Safari a couple years ago (almost right next to the Summerfield LBV) and we remeber saying at the time that it looked like a nice property. My DW loves the location right outside DV. I know the condo rentals are becoming more and more popular and less expensive, but they are too far away from the "action."

It would be great if Disney had a suites resort on-site for around $100, we would probably pay that. I think Disney is really missing the boat on this one. But the Summerfield LBV right outside the DV is the next best thing. We tend to use our own car instead of the Disney transportation anyhow when we stay on-site. I also remember dining at the Joe's Crab Shack right across the street, even the kids loved that place. Well...I'm going online now to book the Summerfield LBV for 8 days later this month!

Just tryed booking the Summerfield LBV with my brand new Wyndham membership, but I got a rate of $99 a night! I saw someone post above they got a rate under $80. May isn't even peak season, so I'm wondering if there's a way to get a better price?

If you're booking within 21 days of arrival, you can get a good rate by clicking on special offers, Wyndham Webrates. You may be able to get a 1-bedroom suite for around $69, or a 2-bedroom suite for $86-$97 (depending on your dates). Webrates are prepaid and are non-refundable.

Thank you! Yes, Web Rate is $69 a night. Is it just me, or is that a great deal for that property???

One more question...Does the Summerfield LBV have private patios or balconies?

Is that for a 1 or 2 bdrm...I paid $74 for a 2bdrm in March......I thought that was a really great rate...

No private balconies or porches....
