Summer w/ BWV SV

Hi everyone. Is it really necessary to book a 2BR SV at BWV day-by-day during the summer? Do I need to tell CRO that I'm doing a day-by-day?

Thanks! (still trying to decide whether to save points with SV or get the PV to have a view!)

We own at BWV and make all our ressies at 11 months.
YES, book 2 bed SV day by day if you really want it. You can also ask the CM at Member services what they think you should do, they are very helpful.

I believe you want to call MS not CRO for your DVC ressie and let them know you want to do day by day

So in other words, if I call at the first day of a day-by-day ressie, and tell MS, Hey, I'm going to be calling you for the next 10 days, bear with me..." you're saying they might tell me if it's necessary or not? (i.e., they have tons of 2 brs, or gee, it's tight, better keep calling.) I would be hesitant to believe them even if they said there was a lot of inventory -- after all, they can always say, "oh well, whaddya know, a bunch of folks came in and requested 2br std view... who'd a thunk it. No guarantees..." and there I would be, stuck paying PV pts.

I guess I'll be dialing every day too for our August 2004 ressies.

ONe question -- Are the hardest rooms to get the sv studios? I need one of those too....

The reason the tell them you'll be calling daily is so they won't send you 10 individual confirmation letters- they'll make a note to hold them until the last day. Each day you call just remind them that you'll be calling again.

BW has NO 2BR villas- they are all 1BR/Studio lock-offs. MS has nothing to gain by giving you bad information about availability.

Since the SV rooms make up such a small portion of the BWV inventory, those rooms do go quickly year round. If you truly want a SV, it's best to call daily.

I just realized that if I get the SV, I'll have 20 of my banked 2002 points left that we won't use. Guess I'll be going for preferred then (and use an extra 20).

I plan on getting a 2BR standard for NYE, pretty slim chances, huh?

I wouldn't say Slim Chance, I'd say No Chance.

As Doc mentioned, there are no dedicated 2-B/R units at BWV. The Standard View Studio for NYE is probably the most sought after reservation there is. Usually they're all gone within the 1st few hours or so right at the 11-month window.

Your chances of a 1-B/R are also pretty slim. You can try the wait list, but I'll bet there are a lot of people in front of you.

If you mean 12/31/2003, I agree with Caskbill - no chance. I'd be willing to bet that even the wailist for NYE 2003 is already closed (which means even MS is admitting that there is no chance).

If you mean 12/31/2004, you have as good a chance as any other BWV owner. Just call as soon as MS opens on the first day the 11 month window opens. Someone manages to reserve those SV rooms on NYE and it could be you! Good luck!
