Summer Tips

Lots of quarters, yes. ;) I started taking those laundry detergent pods because they are so easy. (we drive though, not sure if they are the best choice for packed airline bags or not) I actually started collecting samples of them from online freebie/sample sites a few months ahead of time & used those for our trip. It was nice that each pod was individually packed, & I often got fabric softener samples too. :thumbsup2

Those pods sound good. I use similar in my dishwasher. I bet it would be easy to pack a few in the suitcase.

Do they work in those types of machines (I imagine so, but have never tried them.)

I go to the sample section of Target, and bring a couple of sample sized pouches of laundry detergent. Very easy to pack.

I kept my extra frogg tog in a ziplock baggie with ice. It came in so handy for me.

I don't know either. Sample size is a good idea.

Have to remember that.

We go in the summer very year, usually July.

If you pack sample sized pouches of detergent, make sure you put them in a ziplock bag, otherwise you might be doing laundry on your first day :).

I recently found sample boxes of dry detergent at Target so I would recommend those as opposed to the liquid pouches (and don't forget the dryer sheets). You will definitely need to Change clothes more frequently.

Band aid sells a small chafing stick which really help to keep blisters off.

Try to keep long hair up. It really helps.

Water, water and more water in case you didn't get that yet. LMAO! Freezing them is great.

We always being one of the hand towels from our room to towel off on hot days.

Wear shoes which allow as much airflow as your personal preference allows. I was never a fan of flip flops for walking until I was forced to wear my Reef Fannings one bad weather week (everything else was already wet and I had packed these for the pool). After one day of wear, I was hooked and haven't gone back. My feet were cool and comfortable and I didn't have to worry about wet shoes.

Make sure you sunscreen your feet and ears!

I'm not a hat wearer normally. They don't look great on me and often give me a headache. But maybe I should some kind of sun hat for WDW. Does anyone have any cute hats they like? Any pics?

It's a cooling towel you put on the back of your neck. They are mentioned on various boards on here and seem to be highly rated. I have never used one but I have been looking into them because I see them mentioned so often and we are going in August. I believe Dick's Sporting Goods and Home Depot (seasonally) carries them as well:

Hmmm. I may have found birthday presents for my husband and son, the two in our family who dislike heat.

Thanks!
