Okay, I have been three times to WDW but never in summer. Please give me tips and encouragement for dealing with the new issues I have never faced:

How to deal with Mosquitos and Noseeums----will I not enjoy the view from the Poly beach because of bugs? What to use that doesn't smell if possible?

How to deal with heat?

Anyone have summer trip tips?

When we go in the summer, I still carry around a sweater because the indoor attractions are very air conditioned and I get cold easily. You can get the water bottles with fans attached, but make sure whoever gets them really wants to carry them.

At each park there are places to go to get out of the heat, like Ice Station Cool at Epcot. Try to go to the parks early in the day and go back to the pool at your resort or a water park for the middle of the day and head back to a park between 4-6 depending on the hours when you go. Usually the parks are open later in the summer.

Don't forget ponchos for the rain storms. I still recommend wearing shoes and socks rather than sandals, but I guess that's a personal decision.

I don't have problems with the bugs at WDW for some reason, but my DS does. I guess you just have to apply Bug Sun or other bug defense stuff. Don't forget the suntan lotion and apply it before you dress in the morning before heading out.

Just some things that I can think of at the moment. :earsgirl:

Drink lots of water, rest often, take it slow. Pack ponchos, have several pairs of shoes. Rest often.

As far as the bugs go...the only time I had a problem was at the Polynesian, watching the fireworks. I would put some kind of repellant on my lower legs/feet.

Mosquitos weren't a huge problem. Once and awhile they got me but not an issue for me.

Oh yeah...drink lots of water, rest often.
