We are looking at going to DL late July to early August & are looking for suggestions for comfortable sandals to wear.....ones that can get wet but not cause horrible blisters from all the walking.

Any help would be appreciated!!! I have flat narrow feet & crocs are very loose on me (they sit a good half inch off the top of my foot)....I've seen a number of people wear those, but don't think this will work for me because of the fit.

Thanx bunches!! :flower3:

I bought skecher's sandals for our trip last summer and found them to be very comfy. They look like a sandal on the top and feel like a tennis shoe on the bottom with the cushioning and contours for my feet. I would buy another pair.

And, YaY that you get to go to DLR again. I am happy for you. :thumbsup2

DH and I both have Tevas. They have good traction on the bottom but are a sandal on top. I think we got them at a sports store. We got them 10 years ago before our WDW trip and they're still holding up strong even though we wear them fairly often in the summer.

Also, have you ever ordered shoes from zappos.com? I've done it a couple of times and they're great. They have free shipping and free returns and they have a huge selection. Returns are really easy and you have a year to decide if you want to return the shoes, assuming they are still in new condition and haven't been worn outside.

Good luck with your sandal hunt!

I wear flip flops, but not the cheap kind, I get the kind with arch support, etc.

Thank you for the suggestions.....I will start checking out all those brands & ideas to see if I can find something that will work!!! I knew the best people to ask were the ones that actually wear them at the park!!

I love my Keen's. I can easily wear them all day in the parks.

What I really like about them is that they are great to wear in water, on the street and in the sand. They also protect your toes.

They are a bit more expensive, but they wear like steel.

I've never heard of those, so will go google them! Thanx for the suggestion!

I second the vote for Keens. I have the Keen Venice H2's which are waterproof. I totally love the color (they are a cool royal blue color), but the best part is that they FEEL so good! I have trouble with my arches and my Keens feel great.

I wear my running shoes that have a lot of holes for ventilation. They take longer to dry out then sandals, but dry out faster than regular shoes. I have bad arches and sandals are too uncomfortable for me by the end of a Marathon day at the park. The wet feet may be a little uncomfortable, but definitely better than the pain of not wearing something with enough support.

I will be looking into some of these suggestions though in case there is chance of finding the best of both worlds...

That's how the Crocs Beach or Cayman (the clog styles) are supposed to fit! If they're touching the top of your foot, they're too small and you'll get blistsers. I've worn crocs at DL & WDW since I discovered them about 5 years ago! They keep my feet and legs happy where no other walking shoe with insert ever managed to!

Thanx again everyone......I know the Crocs are supposed to fit loosely, but I feel like I'm walking out of them.....maybe I just need to try the different styles to see if there is a better option.

I've done the comfortable running shoe before but once they got wet.....it was miserable & caused blisters.....so I'm really hoping to find a sandal or shoe that's supposed to get wet. :cloud9:

When I first wore them, I felt myself sort of gripping with my toes to keep the shoe on my foot, and I was making weird muscles in my foot sore! My Mom and I were both wearing Crocs in the park for the first time then and we both noticed it. We started making a conscious effort not to grip and the shoes still stayed on! An no more weird sore muscles. So, it seemed to me that it took some practice to figure out how to walk and trust that the shoe wouldn't fall off.

I've worn Crocs almost exclusively on all our trips (see my sig to see how many!) for the last 5 years. One time on a cold, wet DL trip I switched to a tennis-shoe and I quickly remembered why I switched to crocs when my feet & legs were miserable. Regular crocs are great in warm, rainy weather, but not so good in cold rain. I tried the Crocs Mammoths on our New Year's trip and they were definitely warm and were OK because we had a day where it lightly rained all day, but they wouldn't be good in a heavy rain, I'd think.

I would wear whatever you normally wear. I wear flip flops all year long. I brought tennis shoes last time and wore them for half of the first day and my feet hurt so bad! I went back to the hotel and switched to my flip flops (Reefs, not cheapies) and wore them the rest of the 3 days we had left. I long walking trip is not the time to try out new comfy shoes!

I have small feet and love my Mary Jane Crocs when we go to Disneyland in the warmer months. My feet never feel like they are slipping in those! I ended up buying the pink Minnie mary janes and loved those because the lighter color kept my feet cooler (plus they make me happy seeing the Mickey cut-outs)!

I wear slip on sandals at home, but couldn't imagine wearing them for a lot of walking but anything I do decide on would get a good workout long before the trip. I made the mistake of buying new shoes before our 2005 trip....ouchie!!

I'll have look at the Mary Jane Crocs.....they sound very cute!!! Thanx!

Another vote for Teva's from me. Love wearing mine in the parks and wore them through torrential Sept. rains in Orlando last years. they held up great even while soaking wet. I am one of those people who doesn't understand the hype about Crocs, but like you, I have very narrow feet and they sit way high up off my foot, so I know exactly what you are talking about. My tevas are totall adjustable to my narrow feet and I can loosen them if my feet get hot and swell a little.

Thank you for your input.....I just want and looked at the tevas sandals & the keens.....I will definately be trying both of these to see what will work best!!

You might also check out Crocs flip-flops. I wore them for our 10 day trip to WDW and never had a blister. I also have Tevas, which I like, but have not tried doing massive walking in them.

If you prefer a more aggressive arch support that Tevas or Keens, look at Chacos. My entire family loves them. They are the original river sandle. The bottoms are like Vibrum hiking boots, the tops a one piece of adjustable webbing.

I love Keens but they can be expensive. If you decide to give them a try, I would recommend you check www.6pm.com, it's a website for all kinds of shoes and they usually have great discounts.

Good luck with your sandal hunting!!!
