What quick drying clothes can anyone reccomend for touring parks in the summer?
I'm thinking we will need gear that helps us cope with the rain, sun & heat but dries without laundry facilities.
The humidity at Easter was bad enough...after a soaking on the water rides in IOA we never really got the clothes dry, particularly trainers.
Summer humidity, I read, is much worse so the problem I recon could be an issue.
How do folks cope who are in accomodation without tumble dryers?!
Thanks.

where are you staying??, the majority of hotels have washers and driers.

good tip for the parks in the heat is to get the small hand towels provided in hotel rooms etc and wet them and put around your necks keep wetting them during the day its a great way of keeping cool and avoiding sun on your neck.
i have never stayed anywhere where there is not a dryer ... :dancer: :thewave:

:sunny: Hi! :sunny:

You may want to consider wearing swim shorts. They dry quickly and are easy to wash by hand in your sink. They usually dry by hanging overnight.

Another option are shorts made by Columbia Sportswear Company. They are made out of nylon and are very cool and dry easily. I have several pairs. I wear them all the time because it is hot and humid here also. They hold up very well. You can also wash/dry them in your room. They dry wrinkle free.

Hope some of this helps you out. Have a wonderful trip! ::MinnieMo

Thanks dixipixi.
Anyone experienced shorts/tee shirts made from dupont tactile material?
You guys are so helpful.
Thanks.

:flower: You're Welcome :flower:

My DH and I don't like the tactile type shirts. We prefer cotton. It also dries out pretty fast and helps to absorb sweat. (I know, that's yucky, but true). :crazy2:

However, my DS's like shirts made out of that type material and nylon. But they are teenagers and I've learned that they would rather be uncomfortable than unfashionable! :smooth:

My daughter is 16...never a truer word spoken.
It's -4 centigrade & she goes out without a coat coz it looks sad!!

Kids of today eh? They'd rather freeze or sweat/itch to look 'cool'. Common sense will arrive eventually!

:rotfl: That is soooo true!

When my stepdaughter was 16, she INSISTED on wearing nothing but flip-flops on her feet. When she tried to complain, we wouldn't listen. At least the boys will wear tennis shoes (trainers). When I was a teenager, tennis were the ONLY thing we'd wear on our feet and my parents complained about that, so what goes around comes around I guess. :rotfl2:

Also an alternative to the tennis (trainers) are some really good sandals with good support built into them. To me, it's not so bad when they get a soaking on water rides, etc. They dry much quicker.

Nike Drifit or Adidas Climalite or Climacool do the job well for me. I find them lightweight and comfortable. They dry out very quickly if they get wet. I basically just take the clothing I'd wear when working out at home. With the exception of a pair of Nike Air sandals I wear to keep my feet cool and they'll dry out quickly if they get wet. The air is a godsend to cushion me for all that walking :)

Another thing to bring is a good hat. One that has a band inside to absorb sweat and a nice brim to keep the sun off your face.

Adidas Climacool. Also their training shoes are great as you get the breeze going up through to the soles of your feet. They dry really quickly.
