We have been in late June once and mid to late August 3 times. We are considering going very late July or early August this year. I know the parks will be more crowded, but by how much ? We also go at other times of the year ( usually President's Week or spring break, which for us is April ) we never have issues with crowds because we arrive before opening, use FP, etc....The last 3 years were free dining in late Aug and we did not have an issue with the crowds. What do you guys think?? TIA

We go in late May/early June and late July/early August. In my experience, late July/early August is considerably hotter and more crowded than late may/early June - but on the plus side, parks are open late and everything is operating/running at full capacity.

If you keep doing the rope-drop/early morning park visits and FP you'll be fine.

We've had to go late July/early August the last few years because of school and youth sports.

All I can say is it is really hot, it's really crowded and it rains buckets nearly every day.

If that won't dampen your spirits, then no problem. We make the best of it - because we have to - and have never let any of the downside affect the magic.

However, if I had a choice, I'd certainly prefer to go at a slower time.

Oh yeah...and those BTGs...they are there full force in July and first week of August.

I live here in Florida and it will be HOT. I would purchase, if you do not have already, a fan spritzer for everyone. Use the early entry, fast passes, and late opening to your advantage. The dollar store sells cheap umbrellas and rain ponchos. In the afternoon, I would recommend going back to the hotel for a cool down swim. You are more brave than me, the crowds are just too much for us at that time of year. Enjoy!

What are BTG's??? Like I said, we regularly go mid to late Aug so are prepared for the heat. It's more the crowds I'm concerned about..

I'm guessing Brazillian Tour Groups.

I never knew what people were talking about until we went late July and there were lots of the tour groups.

We went last mid Aug...it was hot and not as crowded as I thought it would be. BUT we discovered a new vacation attitude because we knew we would be back...up early in the parks at 8:30/9am and somewhere around 12ish, we were back at the resort eating a light lunch and in the pool. Somewhere around 5ish, we would have an early dinner and then off to a park when everyone was eating dinner.

What we did notice was how crowded the parks were when we LEFT to go back to our resort and how many people were LEAVING at 6/7pm when we returned to the parks.

Moderately crowded. Nowhere near as bad as Christmas, but still plenty crowded enought to require you to arrive early, use fast passes, etc. Always take the long afternoon break!

We will also be going late July this year! We always switch off from year to year...mid August one year and then late July the next, because we have AP's. I really haven't noticed a difference in the crowds for these two times. After Christmas at DL a few years ago, I can handle these crowds!:rotfl:

See you there!
