Summer discounts are out!!

I priced the same package through three different discount offers. I got the same price with each package.

I booked my package about three months ago and got better pricing than what they are offering. Even with the offer thats now available I would actually be spending more.

There were some price increases between your booking and these offers. I'm in the same boat. My overall discount is better on what I booked several months ago. Never hurts to look though.

Cause they raise the rates for the summer and then give 25% off to make it look like a deal

I've rarely found good deals in the summer.

There was a ticket price increase in February which is probably reflected in the new pricing.

yea 25% off, but they jacked the room rates up so they are still getting the normal rate. Poly was 474 a night on friday. now its 705 a night. how is that 25% off. its terrible that they consistently do that
Wow! $705/night! :faint:

Reeeeee diculous.

It's basically "take it or leave it" these days to all their loyal fans. This is a direct result - my estimation - of their recent quarterlies...and will get worse as attendance drops.

Anybody want to explain $705 rooms at the poly two months out being justified due to the "free market"?

Any takers?

> $200 per night for a mod with a discount is insanity.

Coronado is the only one with a "reasonable" sub $200 tag, and that's because they've torn down half of it.

I thought they were worried about attendance?

Moderates are not worth that...nowhere near...that was my point in the Caribbean DVC thread because I have fought the war in the trenches there.

It's not...will a ski lift make it worth $325?

Here it comes...

As far as the last sentence...they are worried about profits/stock price...and that is what happens when you have an overcompensated, lame duck, CEO

Just checked some pricing out of curiosity. There's a whopping $14/night discount for a garden view room at the Contemporary, $20/night discount on a tower magic kingdom view.

Roughly a $10/night discount at Riverside

Everyone better get cracking on these deals!

Holy moly. I always thought I might like to stay at a monorail deluxe one day if we could afford it just to have had that experience... but looking at the room pictures, amenities and square footage, and that price tag... just wow. I guess I'll just walk through the lobby sometime and take a few pictures. I know someone else will be paying it though.

I tried pricing things out via the deal vs the rate the DIS secured for the DIS event the end of May/Beginning of June and was surprised at the rates for the values even after the discount. It was like $135/night after the discount for all stars, for example. They must have really moved the rates up for the summer and then figured promoting a deal would draw people in, even if not really a deal

side note - the rates the DIS team secured seems better at least in the dates/locations I was looking for

Let me guess (without looking)...for only $400/$750 a night respectively?...

And people wonder why they do nothing but DVC conversions These days...

Maybe, but I doubt it.

They jacked the standard price of CBR Pirate rooms (as an example) to $284 per night. However, the spring specials are still out for passholders to book and that rate is showing as $213.54 discounted. I'm pretty sure the standard room rate was lower a week ago. However, the new summer rate which is supposed to be 20% off mods gives a rate of $242.01 discounted. However, the spring discount works out to be 25%. The summer discount actually works out to be about 15%.

I checked the same dates, same rooms for apples-apples comparison.
