Summer crowds

We will be in the World from June 11-26. We will only be on property for one night, so no EMH. Our last four trips have been over Christmas week. We haven’t been in the summer since 2009. What kind of crowds should we expect?

Expect it to be crowded and hot, but probably not as crowded as Christmas week. Everything is doable though, especially arriving at park before rope drop, taking a mid-day break if needed and using FP strategically for the big rides. You'll have a great time!

Last year the crowds were lower than expected which is why they lifted the blackout dates early for AP's

It will be nothing like Christmas week. Don't worry. WDW is always fairly busy, but summer is now one of the lower-crowd times to visit.

We are looking at this trip as a bonus trip, so we will be chill about it. The only reasons we are going are:

A. We got that great DVC deal on the Platinum APs, and it would have been downright irresponsible to only use them for one trip! #DisneyMath

B. We are staying with a friend

C. School is out, so we have the time to drive

We were able to get all of our FPS except TSMM and FoP. We ride both of them multiple times in December, so as much as we want to ride them, if we don’t, no one’s trip will be ruined.

We are going to try to rope drop FoP on our arrival day with EMH. And hopefully rope drop TSMM on both of our visits to the Studios!

Look for FOP FPs again. I saw a post yesterday that they just released more FPs to correspond with the later closing times. We are there around the same time as you thanks to AP Disney math. We've been doing summer trips for the last 5 years and it's very doable. Enjoy!
