Does anyone have any info on the Villas at Summer Bay? Are they in the same location as Summer Bay? Has anyone stayed there? We are trying to pick between the Villas at Summer Bay and Wyndham Cypress Palms. Any imput would be appreciated.

By most accounts, the Villas are the least desirable section of the three at Summer Bay. I'd put Houses first, then Summer Bay, with Villas third. I also think Summer Bay is a bit far from the action. Unless you're looking at a House, not as good a home base for a Disney-focused trip. I am sending my Mom to Summer Bay for two weeks in early February, but she's not going to visit the parks.

I'd probably lean to Cypress Palms, as long as it's a full-kitchen 1BR or larger. The partial-kitchen 1BRs are small there.

We are looking at 2 bedroom condos. I got the certificates at Skyauction and so far these two look like the best places with the availablity for when we are going.

cypress palms was actively undergoing refurbishment when we were there a year or so ago...

just make certain you get a two bedroom ( or one bedroom with full kitchen if no two are available, which seems to be the case lately )and make sure you check before you go to make sure they have not pulled a switcheroo like they did with us....we used a certificate for a two bedroom but when we called were told we were booked into a 1 bedroom with partial kitchen

cypress palms said it was rci's doing and rci said it was done by cypress palms
we had to get rci to fax another copy of our confirmation to them

it was all worked out before we arrived thank goodness....just do not like surprises when traveling

We'll be staying at Cypress Palms for our 3rd time in November. When we were there in May they had just about finished their refurb. It seems to be quieter than many other places we've seen, and while it has a nice pool area, it doesn't have all the bells and whistles (and waterslides, etc.) that some of the other resorts have, and I think that's why it tends to draw people looking for a more relaxed atmosphere. It also has a lot of restaurants and shopping closeby.
