Summer Bay Resort

HI there,
Has anyone rented at this resort, and if so, what are the pros/cons? How close to parks is it, and what should I expect to pay for a 2 bdrm here for a week!TIA

Great resort. Not the closest to the parks, but it's an easy drive. And you learn the shortcuts.

Never rented, so can't answer that.

We exchanged into it and had a great time. It's quite a ride from Disney property but I think there is a route now into Animal Kingdom that we did not know about.

A super Walmart is really close and cheaper than the Publix next door.

The only thing we felt the resort lacked was an onsite restaurant. The main pool was always very crowded but we hung out at one of the other ones. If you are going in the winter be aware that the kiddie park is not heated but it was really neat for the kids to play in. I would stay there again!

This is just my opinion, but I see Summer Bay as one of those 'skeezy' timeshare resorts that will do anything to sell an ownership. My experience with Summer Bay is limited to an over the phone sales presentation that would take no more than '15 minutes' of my time - and 45 minutes later I finally had to hang up.
When it comes to the quality of accommodations I ALWAYS refer to the tripadvisor website - it will give you a totally honest and unbiased review of nearly anything travel related. Tripadvisor has never let me down!

I've stayed multiple times at Summer Bay and never been annoyed with sales calls. We did agree to a tour once about 10 years ago and it was painless.

Some of the reviews on Trip Advisor are over the edge. I've seen terrible slams of places I've been and liked. We reserved a room in London with good reviews on Trip Advisor and it was horrid.
