Summer at WDW getting hotter!

This summer, I'll finally get back to WDW for a "full" trip for the first time since 2012. I know it'll be hot - and Florida heat is the worst. But I realized something. First, they're shutting down the Muppets #d show. That's the BEST place to go around 3pm everyday to cool off from the awful temps of August. And now I'm reading the Tough to be a Bug is going down next month and won't be back until the end of the year - that's the best place at AK to cool off during the day.

I realize that Disney is really wanting to improve because Universal is fixing to give them an uppercut. But man, taking away our AC in the middle of the summer is a bummer. I mean, what's next? Shut down Kali River in July? Make a summer refurb for Temu-Splash-Mountain?

HS: Walt Disney Presents is fantastic for viewing and cooling off. Check out the Documentary show. There is also a theater for shorts near Indiana Jones.

AK: Nemo would be my number one cool down spot. Lots of room. Or check out Nomad Lounge.

Really good recommendations at AK. Nomad has both outdoor and indoor options.

Our best option is to not go in August.....!

So many options.

AK: Festival of the Lion King, Nemo, both of the Pandora rides, the indoor area in Rafiki's planet... look at some critters, attend a drawing class.

HS: Walt Disney Presents, the Frozen show, Vacation Fun shorts show, Star Tours- is there ever a real wait?, Star Wars Launch Bay

Or do like many do in the summer—go back to your resort and have some pool or nap time! We go every Aug/Sep and things our strategy: up to rope dropping, afternoons back at the resort, and back to the parks until close.

We also try to avoid the parks during the hottest parts of the day. My tolerance for heat isn’t what it used to be.

Very true.... Disney has already announced that it WILL open this summer. Just no date yet.

Also the new Villain's show has a runtime of 40 mins (per Disney) which will also be a nice indoor attraction that should be better suited for the whole family as opposed to Mqueen's racing academy.
