Well August 5th. My birthday. If I were anywhere else turning 37 would be an event I would gladly let slip by unnoticed. But hey, I'm in Disney World, let's celebrate!

After our usual quick bite in the lounge we headed out to Magic Kingdom. It was an Early Entry day but after our past EE experiences we decided just to go for our Castle breakfast at 10:20 and if we fit in anything else then great. In keeping with my "It's my birthday and I'm not afraid to show it" mode, I obtained a Birthday Pin from Town Hall. People really do say "Happy Birthday" to you all the time when you where these.

First we picked up a FP for Philharmagic because the time was just right, looked to be right about when we'd finish breakfast.
We went to the check in desk and there seemed to be many people waiting. But when we gave our name we were shown right in. One of many times I've thought that concierge reservation does make a difference.
We had a very nice table right across from the tables by the window. Each of the princess came for a visit and Kaleigh waited to put on her crown until Cinderella came to our table. Cinderella of course being a princess and all was much more qualified to help put on the crown then say, mom, who is not a princess. But hey, it made for great pictures and that's what we mom's really want anyway.
Because it was my birthday I was given a special cake and a certificate that each of the princesses signed for me. I also like a big ham had my picture taken with a few of the princesses. So did my husband but I think that was for some other reason....
Now I have to say that we have done the Castle breakfast quite a number of times (spoiled daughter, mom's a sap) and we have always done it very early in the morning. At that time the princess are very busy and when they finish with you there are new people coming in constantly who need their attention. HOWEVER, at 10:20, not so. Towards the end of our meal people stopped coming in. And then what are the princesses to do? Well they come back around and really spend much more time. In fact this leads to one of the most magical parts of my day. As the restaurant began to clear a little, Belle came over and told my children that in a little while we would be able to see Peter Pan and Hook run by the windows (they would be doing the castle show). Well Belle said "come watch" and took my children by the hand over to an empty window table. She sat down and Kaleigh sat in her lap and Tyler stood next to her. There they stayed for well over 20 minutes. They chatted away, I of course wondering what my kids were discussing with a princess, the other princess each came by them and their new best friend Belle for chats, they watched Pan and Hook first go one way past the windows and then a few minutes later go the other way. All the while my husband an I watched in disbelief that they were getting this much quality time with Belle. OK< I didn't just sit there I hovered (not too close to spoil the magic) and took pictures. Lots of pictures. I'm a mom this is what we do. When it was finally time to go, I quietly told Belle "thank you, this was a great present for a mom!" We left with my kids really feeling that they had made a new friend. And me, cloud nine.
Downstairs we got to see my favorite character, the Fairygodmother. She assured me that because it was my birthday my dreams would in fact come true. She knows what she's talking about. Tyler took a picture of Chris and I with the her, priceless to see the child taking a picture of the parents with the character. Welcome to MY family!

We just ended up making it in time for our Philharmagic FP. Ended up in the front row and I was worried the effects wouldn't work as well there. No need to worry, they were still great! We went to Adventureland and walked through the Swiss Family Tree House. this was fun, the kids had never done it. It was nice to take in a smaller attraction and not just be rushing to the headliners. We stopped to see Jasmine and Aladdin, Tyler and Kaliegh said that Belle had told them they would be there signing autographs. While waiting Chris got me a pineapple Dole Whip. Told ya he was a good husband.
We headed back out down main Street - I have more birthday plans - Chris stopped to get the kids those Izkasomething swirly ice pops, while I ran in to buy the pictures they took of us on Main Street this morning. I bought the family photo and almost didn't get a picture they had taken with our hands out and palms up in an odd way. But luckily the cast member pointed out the "magic". I made sure I bought that one too. I won't give it away, have the picture taken. I bet you'll buy it too.

Time to leave MK. We are headed to the Contemporary, I have plans to go parasailing!
