The Cast:

Me - Julie, 36
DH - John, 40
DS1 - Mark, 17
DD - Abbey, 14
DS2 - Lewis, 6 (7 in 2 weeks)

Pre-trippie

Day 1

Day 2

Day 3

It took me ages to get to sleep last night. The day had been so busy and I just loved Fantillusion and Enchanted Fireworks. I was exhausted, but determined to get to EMH with Lewis as we had to do Peter Pan.

So, I was up at 7am and had a shower. Whilst I was getting ready Abbey knocked the door and said she was too tired this morning and was going back to bed. We'd already agreed that DH and Mark wouldn't bother with EMH. I woke Lewis and we were off for EMH.

We were in the park for just after 8. It was a bit colder this morning, but looked like it would get warmer.

We had a wee visit to see Pascal whilst it was quiet

We went on Peter Pan and the Dumbos

2011_0729Disney110007.jpg

Then some photos at the maze again. Lewis needed a lift up onto the chair

Then over to the Carousel. Lewis loves knights and horses and I suggested he go on the big horse on the outside. He said he was too small, and I tried to remind him that he'd done this on our last visit, but he didn't believe me....anyway he chose a different one and was happy

Then we did Buzz. The ride got stuck for a while so I managed a decent score for once. I really do think some of the guns are better than others. It seemed really easy this morning.

We strolled down Main St looking in the shop windows

And through the village

Lewis wanted to look in this shop for Captain Jack stuff and spied a costume he liked. I said we'd see ;)

The others were up and ready for us now for breakfast. Today we walked past the Parkside and went into the Manhattan. Whilst I do like the Parkside, the booth tables make buffets quite difficult when everyone wants to get up and down.

Breakfast is the same continental stuff, croissants are delicious. Lots of cold meats, yoghurts, fruit, cereal and hot items, bacon, sausages, srambled eggs and potato fries.

We hadn't been to the studios yet and were missing it. It was really busy. Crush was showing 90m wait. We headed for Toy Story Playland with some pictures on the way.

We tried for the parachutes, but whilst in the queue it broke down. So we decided not to wait.

2011_0729Disney110026.jpg

John, Lewis and I headed for Slinky and Mark and Abbey for RC Racer. The kids had been telling Lewis to put his hands in the air whilst on Pirates but he was too scared, so he tried it out on Slinky. He was so happy, you'd have thought he was on a total thrill ride!!

We took some pics whilst waiting for Mark and Abbey to come off RC.

A quick toilet stop and I got FP for DH, Mark and Abbey to do TOT later. (I don't like this at all :scared1:). The stunt show was starting now, 11:15 so we went for this.

I'm not sure what to make of this now to be honest. I like that they've incorporated Lightning McQueen. You could see that the younger kids, including Lewis absolutely loved this, but I really liked the old version. Lots has been missed out now and I was stunned to see some of the audience just get up and leave before the end. I think that is such bad manners. Those CMs work their socks off for that show and it must be so disheartening to see the audience leave too soon.

Anyway, Lewis was happy and everyone seemed to enjoy it. The final stunt is fantastic.

We had a bit of time before TOT fast pass time so we decided to do Art of Animations. We usually just go for the drawing at the end, but did the full show this time round.

2011_0729Disney110046.jpg

It's years since we've seen this and it was good to see they've updated it a bit. We got to see a trailer for Cars 2, which we'd missed in Ashford. Something to look forward to. When we came out the drawing part was closed :sad2:

Mark, John and Abbey did TOT. Lewis and I had a wander. In October we would have been able to do Carpets and Cars about 3 times whilst waiting on them. Today however it was wait times of over 40 minutes for both :scared1:

So, we met Sulley instead

2011_0729Disney110048.jpg

Some other characters came out and we managed a quick pic with Baloo

2011_0729Disney110049.jpg

The others were still in TOT

2011_0729Disney110050.jpg

So we watched the band play for a while. They were fantastic :thumbsup2. I got FP for Aerosmith for later.

After this it was time for lunch. We went to Blockbuster Cafe and had 3 Croques, a muffin, corneto and 3 cokes between us. (Abbey rarely eats lunch, but she makes up for it at tea time!!) Total bill 35E. The CM gave us a bundle of receipts with vouchers for a free drink later in the day between 15:00 and 17:30 at various restaurants in the main park.

It was now time for Aerosmith and John and Mark went on first. We waited outside.

2011_0729Disney110055.jpg

Then Abbey and I went on. I think I must be getting old, but I didn't really enjoy this. My head really hurt when I came off. I'm so disappointed at this as I love the fast bit at the beginning. :confused3

Mark bought a number plate from the shop for his room.

We stopped and watched the band for ages after this. Mark plays guitar and Abbey plays piano and bassoon. They loved this.

Back over to the main park now and managed to get FP for BTM for 20:30 - 21:00 :thumbsup2 It started to drizzle slightly, but nothing to be concerned about.

We headed over to queue for Tarzan. We were a bit early and in the queue I noticed that some characters were in Woody's Roundup. This isn't advertised on the schedule and it wasn't official with photographers, like the old way. We managed to get some lovely pics though.

This was a great, unexpected character bonus :thumbsup2

We queued for Tarzan and had some popcorn in a massive Mickey tub to share

2011_0729Disney110067.jpg

Tarzan was just as amazing as I remembered. We all love the movie, it was a big hit in our house when Mark and Abbey were wee, and Lewis love it now too.

2011_0729Disney110071.jpg

After this we went to Hakuna Mattata to pick up some drinks with our free vouchers, saving us 8.20E :thumbsup2 When we came out we spotted Timon and Raffiki doing a meet and greet. Whilst in the queue they changed to King Louie and Baloo.

2011_0729Disney110074.jpg

And a wee shot of the bongos

2011_0729Disney110075.jpg

Abbey had spotted Ka and Zazu behind them, so we got a wee pic of them too

2011_0729Disney110076.jpg

Have they always been there? Never noticed them before.

As we headed out of Adventureland I noticed a queue of people and ever the nosey one I headed towards it. There was the lamp with Jasmine and Aladdin.
We joined the queue and the CM closed it after us. She was from the UK and really nice. Poor soul had to be the bad one and say no to loads of people trying to queue behind us. She was saying to them that the queue was closed now and that Jasmine and Aladdin were getting ready to go to the parade later that night. One woman (uk person) tutted and said 'I don't think they need 2 hours to get ready for a parade'. The CM was very quick and said that they were only human and needed to eat too. She said they have been here for over 3 hours already. What a difficult job that must be. Anyway, we were lucky to meet them

Back through the village and Lewis chose his dressing up costume he wanted. He's nearly 7, but very tall for his age. We tried the age 9 on him and it did fit, but I knew it wouldn't last long, so we got the age 12 instead. Back at the hotel he put it on, delighted with himself.

Enjoyed an hour or so of doing nothing and then to Cafe Mickey for our 7pm reservation :goodvibes

We were shown to a table upstairs, which actually was just a table for 4, with a seat added for Lewis at the end. It was ok, but not much space. It took a while to be served. Ordered 3 pizzas and fries between us and all had drinks. Total bill with shareholders discount was 75E. I think you most definitely pay for the characters here. Our waitress was a bit grumpy, but to be honest so was I. I was so tired. We enjoyed ourselves though and will go again.

After this it was nearly time for our BTM Fastpasses. So off we went. Lewis was ok but didn't like the loud noise. It did seem to be REALLY noisy for some reason. He changes his mind now about doing it again, but he did that with Pirates and just needs some time to think about it, so I'm sure he'll do it next time.

I knew that Captain Jack was due to be in Adventureland at 9pm, so guided the crew there, without saying anything. I didn't want Lewis to be disappointed if it was a scrum. There was only one family waiting, with others just sitting on the wall around the entrance to Blue Lagoon. I wasn't sure if they were waiting or not, and it seemed they weren't. Jack came out after only about 10 seconds of waiting :thumbsup2 so it was well timed. The family in front had their photos taken and Lewis went forward, but a random boy ran in front of him. Jack asked him to wait, and beckoned Lewis forward ;)

2011_0729Disney110097.jpg

Lewis said, 'that was good timing mum' and John responded saying I'd probably had it planned for months......:rolleyes1

Next we had to do pirates of course!

2011_0729Disney110098.jpg

Lewis finally lifted his head on the drop with the photo

2011_0729Disney110099.jpg

Abbey wanted to explore Adventure Isle and we hunted out the suspension bridge.

Then we went back to the hotel via Main St.

2011_0729Disney110110.jpg

Another full and busy day. We were back by 10pm, the earliest yet, and I started the dreaded packing :sad2: We were all in bed by 10:30, with John and the kids watching a dvd. Lewis and I were out cold in minutes :lmao:

I like your stamina, I plan to make the most of my next trip but with a 3 & 6yr old it will be difficult

It was hard going Nikki.....no joke. But, EMH were an absolute must for Lewis. He'd never had got on Peter Pan if we hadn't done it. Even by 8:30 queues were starting to build. I'm sure if you guys take it easy, they'll be fine :goodvibes

I'm tired just from reading that :rotfl2: but it's amazing how you find the energy to keep going at Disney.

Another great day and your photos are fabulous. :goodvibes

Thanks :) Disney certainly makes you go on for ever.

HI
Really enjoyed reading your report. I'm doing the same trip next year and driving for the first time. How did you find parking at HNY? Once you have passed security at the first barrier, did you have any problems getting passed the second barrier into the actual carpark?

I don't remember a second barrier ....we just passed the first security bit and then parked.
