Summer 2015 predictions

Hawaii and not just a couple...the entire summer. LA to Hawaii or Vancouver to Hawaii or Seattle to Hawaii. I only care about Hawaii!:thumbsup2

Unless you're talking about round-trip LA to Hawaii, or Seattle to Hawaii, it can't be done.

Vancouver to Hawaii (or Ensenada to Hawaii, even) can be done one way.

Anyplace that the West Coasters can go to without having to fly. How about up and down the coast?

I have no predicitions but I hope sometime DCL puts a ship in Baltimore--its a closer drive for us and flights are really cheap to Baltimore from Buffalo too :thumbsup2 Back to NYC would be nice too;)

This would be awesome and I'd be broke! Can always hope!!

I would def. be onboard a cruise out of baltimore. Or maybe 2. 25 min to the port would be too tempting.

I'd love to do a Baltic, but it would probably cost around aa $1,000,000. :rolleyes1

Until the canal is done and the wonder can not go west unless she goes via the cape. And the canal has been delayed and delayed. I was hoping for a canal cruise but looks like it will not happen.

Having DCL in Baltimore which is so close to home would be fantastic! :rotfl2: I'd have to consider how many cruises to limit myself to

Can you please elaborate. I haven't read that they are lengthening the ships.

The Magic is getting a bigger behind and an expansion of a few feet that makes it too long to fit thru the canal.

Being a sister, the Wonder is expected to do the same, however with the recent changes in the fall schedules, it's possible the Wonder dry dock would be pushed back.

If it would get a bigger behind, the Wonder would also not fit thru the canal and hence any trips to Alaska could be in trouble.

Would not be surprised if the canal expansion is delayed. DCL might play it safe and not move a ship to the west coast until 2016, and again, assuming all canal expansions are completed, and that the Wonder is also getting it's own expansion.

The Wonder has been doing west coast cruises for a while. Once they had to pull out of Mexico, they didn't really sell. Starting in LA, coming to SF and SD while making a pitstop in Ensenada just wasn't working.

I'd prefer to see her start in SF, with a day or 2 each in LA and SD for Disneyland and Sea World then back to SF. Instead they were doing 2 days in SF.

Then throw in a 14 day round trip to Hawaii again - maybe once a month? I'd cruise a lot more.

I'd be really sad though to hear that they can't bring any off the ships through the canal for a while. It would mean we spend more time at Aulani.

Just a wild shot, but with all the increases in tourism from Brazil, maybe going around the Cape wouldn't be such a wild idea. They could do a one way from Florida to Brazil, go around the Cape to Valparaiso, then back up the west coast to Los Angeles. Each leg would take 2-3 weeks and they could maybe add a few short cruises out of Rio while they're there.

I know it sounds far to wild and daring for DCL and I don't think it will ever happen, but you can always dream!

I think a huge problem for DCL on the west coast is lack of advertising. I hear people all the time saying they didn't know there was a Disney ship on the west coast (this was in the past few years before they actually left California). Yet I see advertisements all the time for DCL out of FL. They could do great business if they create a cruise and play package to tie in with Disneyland. And the Hawaii trips sold out so fast, why don't they plan a couple of trips a year there? Doing it when school is out of session would be a huge hit.
