summer 2010-DLH discounts possible?

Hello,
I'd like to use my airmiles to book our flights to L.A. for summer 2010 soon, so that I have a good choice with airlines and such with my airmiles, and would LOVE to stay at the Disneyland Hotel, but can really only do that at a discounted price. I would like to book flights for a time when a DLH discount may come up - do you think this would be most likely to happen in late August? But this past summer, there was a discounted price at DLH for the rest of the summer too, wasn't there? I thought I could put off booking a hotel for a while, to see what may come up, maybe with a PIN number, if I receive one, or maybe I could even buy a AP - I wonder how long I dare wait with this, though? Any suggestions are very welcome!!

I think it really depends on how busy they are..they can change the price from one day to the next. In July, the 25th I think...it was a friday... we had checked the price before we left home and it was full price and then some... $300 ish.... while there staying somewhere else, I called and they had changed the price and we got a view room for $159. I believe it was. At the time we were paying a high season rate where we were and it only cost us a little more to move to the Disneyland Hotel. So even while your there, if you don't mind moving...call to check...I think, even if it's not posted it's worth a call... if the rooms are sitting empty, I bet they give the ap's a good rate if they call in....don't know for sure but it seemed that way to us. Son and daughter in law did the same exact thing (cause I told them to) and moved there from somewhere else but in an off season...they got an even better rate.
