I am keen to book a
DCL cruise for summer 2005, and for 7 days plus, Living in the UK our first brochures come out late April and for summer school holidays the flights go very fast.
You have to book early to get these.
A couple of years ago one popular UK agency advertised DCL 7 day cruises and I booked a Eastern carribean trip. Later on after checking the DCL site, I informed them it had changed to a Western cruise and they had to write to there customers.
DCL is a very good holiday the best I have ever had, but delaying annoucements basically stops UK customers going, particularly the season in questiion coinsides with our summer school holidays.
I bet all of our brouchures coming out in April will now be either wrong or say they cannot book during this time.
I personally would prefer a 10 day cruise in the Carribean on the same lines as the Christmas cruise. I understand all of the reasons for going to Califorinia but I think an equal option is extending to say Jamacia, St Lucia,
You could fit exactly 12 10 day cruises in the time gap on 7 day cruises, the only issue is the Magic and Wonder would be in port 3/4 times together.
So an option could be some 10 & 11 day cruise to avoid this.
Looking at all the Websites the thing is for DCL to annouce as sson as possible what it is doing, opennig up the first and last part of 2005 makes everyone question what is happening? delaying options, and having the adverse effect on booking.
I wolud love to book also now as the £ ( dare i say on this site) is getting a lot stroner against the dollar so making the cost to us in the UK a lot cheaper now.
I do not personally thing this will ast past November elections.
Go one disney make your mind up and annouce now. Otherwise they are cutting out UK guests.
I still feel moving away to Califorinia will effect support jobs in Port Canaveral, Staff at port Cruise buses etc, and is a risk, they know the amount of booking from WDW it isnt guranteed at Disneyland.
Also you have ot get the ship through the Panama Cannel and discussion says it will be tight!
