Normally I throw them back, but this was a keeper. Pic is not the best. It is a picture of a picture.

I was young back then. Probably 55 years old (year1990's). I am really old now. No. Make that more mature.

You can see my fishing/hunting buddies with their smelts, 9/10 inch brown & rainbow trout. Meat hunters. More bones than meat.

I made one cast and my fish fell to a #14 dry March Brown Fly, 5 wt flyrod and line, with 2 lb tapered leader and then I went back to camp for a cold one. Coca Cola that is.

OMGOSH John, What a beautiful fish ! pixiedust:
How much did that swimmer weigh in at ?

But that pic with your buddies show'n their fish too is just too funny :lmao:Of course you had to keep'er,,your buddies would have starved otherwise !:rotfl2:

:cool1:

Frank: I believe 30+ lbs. Anything, like 29 lbs 15 oz would have been a throw back. I have strick standards that I live to.

The fish lacks a little color. Maybe being outta the water for an hour or two. I just can't think of another reason.

But, for sure he is a KING. Or is it a she ??????????

;);););););););

I must confess. I had no idea Frank would bite (no pun intended). I actually had Rog in my sights.

Yes this pic was taken in Sullivan County PA with my Budies, one is my son.

I have used this picture for years. The fish is actually a mounted (stuffed) King (Chinook) Salmon caught by a close friend in Lake Ontario. It hangs on the wall of the cabin that I am at.

Yes, I have a practical joker streak in me. I get it from my Dad.

My story above is actually BULL about catching it on a fly and fly rod.

Frank, don't feel taken. There have been myriads of Fisherpeeple that have taken the hook long before you.

Hook , line, and sinker ! :lmao:
Man, I love fishermen ! Who else could tell great stories, uh, lies, :confused3, oh what ever, like fishermen.
I couldnt tell you how many times that sunfish turned into a 5 lb. bass that got away, by the time I got home.

My wife's uncle had a fishing/hunting cabin up in Sullivan county, she used to go swimming at worlds end. It doesn't mean a lot to me as I was never there but when I asked her about Sullivan county she perked right up.

:)

Small world. We probably swam past each other down by the dam on the Loyalsock.

A bunch of us would go up in the summer and do some fix up-paint up at the cabin. Then off to the 'sock' for a dunk in the crystal clear cold water.

I actually liked to fish the Little Loyalsock more than the Big 'Sock'.

A friend and I canoe floated/fished the Lil Sock from Dushore down to where the Lil & Big Loyalsock joined around Forksville. Some pretty country when you get away from the main road (Rt 87).
