Very last minute trip being planned for this weekend. Have never stayed at any onsite Universal hotels before, we are thinking of going Sat april 23 -30. Have read the comparison charts, Portofino has the biggest rooms, but are there any guest suites that arent the kids suites with shorter beds? will be traveling 2 adults 2 teenagers and need more room. thanks.

PBH has more suite types than the other hotels and in my opinion the best suites. They have a portofino suite which is a bay or garden view room that connects to a parlor with a pullout sofa bed and another bathroom. The other suite types are about the same configuration but the parlors get bigger and bigger.

Thanks for the info. I was looking at the Universal website and they had the description of the kids suite, which wouldn't be any good for my teenage son who is already 6'2". I think the Portofino is the best place for us to stay.

We stayed at HRH in a kid's suite in Jan for DS's 16th b'day. DS and his friend are both pushing 6' and fit just fine in the twin beds - we were hoping they were not 'jr' twins and they weren't. Our room had a large walk-in closet, a long, winding 'entryway' into the main room - king bed at one end of the room, sofa and chair with tv/stereo at the other end. There was a connecting door into the kid's room which had a table and two chairs, 2 regular sized twin beds and an armoire with TV. There was a huge bathroom with both a bath/shower and a stall shower - double sink in the bathroom only. The room worked great for us and was less than 2 rooms rate-wise. The boys did take the huge Sam-I-Am stuffed toy down off of it's hook and sat him in the corner on the floor - they just refused to sleep with it hanging above them on the wall ! I remember comparing the room footage when we were weighing our options and it was equivalent to a 1 br suite at BWV - plenty of room for us!

Thanks bjakmom, I was worried about the beds being too short for my teens. We are DVC members and just stayed in Dec. at our home resort the Wilderness Lodge in a 2 bedroom. I can't stay in a regular hotel room anymore with my big kids. Also, this time we will need a pet friendly resort, which Universal is.
