Hi,

Just curious if anyone has ever asked how many points (roughly) are needed to stay on weeknights at the various suites around the World?

There's this great website I found, http://www.***********.com and it's got me hankerin' after one a them suites. :p

Though I'd settle for Animal Kingdom Lodge concierge -- anyone ever stayed at AKL Concierge on points?

~Amanda

We don't have the option to use points for the suites. Two years ago they added Concierge as an option with points. While I agree the suites look fantastic and would be fun to try....many of them are no better than a DVC 2-bedroom and don't match a GV.

Pam,
Are you sure? I was just reading the Disneyland thread and someone posted point levels for suites at the Disneyland Hotel in CA for April 2004.

Amanda - It got me thinking. I wonder if they do that for WDW hotels as well. I know they do it for the cruise. You can book a Cat. 3 even though the points aren't in print anywhere. Makes me wonder what other options are available that I just don't know about...And by the way, I love ***********. Have you seen ***********'s restaraunt of the day over on the Restaraunt Forum?

Well, I'm stumped Hula Girl. I see the post you are talking about and the person also says they were surprised they could book a 2 bedroom Concierge Suite. I wonder if it is a "suite" or rather two connecting rooms that is called a "suite". The 2004 points for California haven't been released yet.

The 2004 points for WDW are up on the member site and there is no suite category. Maybe they would develop a "points needed" if someone wants to book a suite?

I'm curious enough that I'm going to call MS on Monday morning. I'll post back what I find out. Interesting stuff tonight. I love hearing things I did not know about before!

many of them are no better than a DVC 2-bedroom and don't match a GV.
Have you ever stayed at or visited any of the suites that are available at WDW??? 90% of them far surpass any DVC GV and they also provide concierge service/VIP treatment/guest pampering etc., to the max. These are without a doubt, WDW's top, top accomendations and nothing is spared for the guests staying there.
Believe me, I am NOT putting down ANY DVC resort in any way, shape or form, but to say the suites at WDW (with the exception of CSR suites) are no better than a DVC 2 br and don't match a DVC GV, is just NOT so.
I just have to add this so that I am not accused of being inaccurate....
The suites do not sleep up to 12 people as do the DVC GV's-- if you take up every available sleeping space. But most people do not stay in a WDW suite with 12 people and if you are a party of 12 you get more than one suite or a suite and then various other rooms needed for your group.

We're staying at AKL Concerige on points this fall. Haven't been there yet - this is DH's dream come true, so definitely worth the high points to me!

Would you mind telling me how many points it took for your AKL Concierge reservation?

Thanks!
~Amanda

ps I did go find ***********'s "Restaurant of the Week" She takes such great photos!

During the time we'll be there (cheapest season - early Nov), concierge at AKL is 46 pts per night (weekdays).

Never been, but now my curiosity is up............what is included in concierge? Sounds like I may NEED:teeth: to know the answer to this.

They told me I could upgrade for far cash at AKL during my concierge stay. I am trying to remember the number, I think it was like $300 per night exta for the one bedroom suite. I was going to do it, but they had no availability the first night.

What I found odd was that you could not do it in advance, there is no way to reserve a concierge suite in advance at any hotel. You have to book concierge and ask about availability when you arrive and then pay the cash difference.

You can stay in a suite at the Disneyland Hotel or the Grand Californian. Here are the point costs for value season:

Disneyland Hotel
1 Bdrm suite 740 sq. ft. - Sun-Thurs. 51 pts. F/S 92 pts.
2 Bdrm suite 1100 sq. ft. - Sun-Thurs. 65 pts. F/S 117 pts.

Grand Californian
1 Bdrm Suite 700 sq. ft. - Sun-Thurs. 69 pts F/S 124 pts.
2 Bdrm Suite 975 sq. ft. - Sun-Thurs. 90 pts F/S 162 pts.

I called MS this morning out of curiosity. Apparently the Disneyland Hotels are the only ones in which we can use points to book suites.
