I'm going to WDW Oct 30th - Nov 5th, with my husband & my mom. We've stayed at the Embassy Suites in LBV several times, and have been very happy with it. Unfortunately, this year the rates are higher than in the past - I've checked HRN, Expedia, etc.
I'm not ruling out staying there anyway - just considering other options. (I got a pretty good rate on the airfare)

We def. need a separate bedroom, so that rules out Sierra Suites, as they are all studio suites. We also like that breakfast is included at ES, since mom is an early & hungry riser. And since I'm really slow in the am, she & my hubby usually bring some mickey pancakes & sausage up to the room for me to munch on while getting ready. :teeth:

We also like that the shuttle bus runs every hour or so from ES. We don't drive, and I've heard that the shuttles don't run that frequently at other hotels. (We stayed our first trip at an ES on I-drive, and the shuttle bus from there to WDW was a real drag)

I've been looking at Homewood Suites in LBV (Palm Pkwy), & at the Doubletree Guest Suites just inside the Disney property. Does anyone have any experience with either of these?

I do see that Buena Vista Suites has a great rate, but it seems kind of alone out on a highway. I really like the LBV area.

I did try to do a search in this forum for these hotels, but got an error page each time.

Thanks for any advice. This is a really great site - I wish I had found it years ago! :)

Try Summerfield Suites in LBV..very nice and a good free breakfast...there are usually some good rates out there on expedia or travelocity

Another possibility is Hawthorn Suites on Palm Parkway in Lake Buena Vista. I stayed there in May, and it was great! The hotel is new, built I think in 2000. Nice pool, good continental breakfast. The suite had the seperate bedroom and living room, and each room had it's own TV. Unfortunately, I don't know anything about the shuttles, since we had a car. I paid $89 a night in May, which I was very happy with. :)

Just a thought - Have you called the hotel directly and asked to speak to the manager? If you are a repeat customer, they will sometimes give you a "special" rate in appreciation for your business. Just explain your situation, the rates you've found, and what you were hoping to spend. Be sure to tell them how much you like this particular hotel and would much prefer to stay there than somewhere else - if you can agree on a price.

Lodging.com had a rate of $124 for a l br at Embassy Suites for Jan.

You might want to check it for your dates.
