Which hotels have 2 BR/2 bath suites that would work for two 4-person families? I know that Desert Inn has suites large enough but they have an indoor pool and we want to be outside soaking up the sun in June.

How about trying Howard Johnsons, they do not have a suit to accomodate you, but if you phone in-house reservations, you may be able to get confermed connecting rooms.
A great hotel with a great pool/water play area for soaking in the sun

Hojo's is definitely on our list. I was hoping to find a suite with a living room, kitchen and two bedrooms. I've done my research and I think the only place is Hyatt Regency (lots of $$$ so not cost-effective).

Thanks, cruise!

Try the Maingate Residence Inn. I've stayed in the one bedroom/one bathroom w/ kitchen there and it's very nice.

Have you thought about a vacation rental?
We have done that in the past with large groups and found it to be wonderful.
Two extended families travelling together... we got upstairs/downstairs condos on the beach at Newport. While we drove every day to the parks, it was much more reasonable than trying to find hotel suite accomodations that would accomodate us all.
Good luck!

Anaheim Plaza has the suites AND a HUGE pool.

I been looking for the same. I'm trying to book a room for 7 (5 adults and 2 kids). The only thing that keeps popping up on disneys site is the 2 or 3 bedroom suites at the DLH or GCH. For the 6 nights they want $8K for the 2 bedroom at GCH and $10k for the 3 bedroom . Oh well... looks we're going to have to try for 2 adjoining rooms for half the price.

BW Raffles offers family suites that sleep up to eight. The place is very simple, but I thought the rooms were nice. You can also try the penthouse at the Residence Inn Maingate. That is two stories, and seems really roomy, plus they offer hot meals as part of your stay there.

You should check getawaytoday.com too. Tropicana Inn also has a two room suite which is just two normal motel rooms with a kitchen between them. Our problem is finding a suite that we want a 2 bedroom suite with a living room and kitchen and isn't more than just getting two rooms together. I know, we're probably asking for too much. Haha!

Did you check out the Residence Inn? They have these types of rooms with kitchenettes and bedrooms/living room plus they have hot breakfast for each person in your party. There are several different types of room configurations. Check out their website for more info. Good luck!

Just checked out BW Raffles and Residence Inn. The largest suite BW Raffles offers is two queens with a sleeper sofa. The Residence Inn offers a suite with two queens and a king. We need four queens. Thanks for the help! I'm going to keep looking...
