Suites for CA cruises

We waitlisted for 5/28 CA about 3 months ago and 7/2 CA about 6 months ago. Got the 7/2 cat 3 but have not heard re 5/28. I know everyone is getting a different story BUT if it is true that all suites were waitlisted did we get any break on the cost or are we now paying the price that would not reflect any kind of an early booking? In other words when we called in the first day if they had allowed us to book a suite would the price have been less than we are paying now? I still cannot understand why so many people called, booked, drove the price up and cancelled. When I got the price I knew whether or not I would book. Perhaps many of the people did not realize they were driving the price. Sorry to vent but this has been bothering me.

Ok - we just got the upgrade -

We had booked for (4) category 4 rooms and waitlisted for category 1, 2 or 3

For August 13th CA cruise

They just called and said we cleared for (4) category 3 rooms, two of which are adjoining, which is nice

We had adjoing category 3's the first time we sailed and it was great

However, the adjoining ones are also the ones the passporter says to avoid because of goofys pool. Has anyone else stayed there and had a problem with noise?

Has anybody else cleared for 1's or 2's on august 13th, 2005?

Thanks

Holy cruise bill.

We are a large group!

2 Grandparents
6 parents
5 grandkids

So four rooms for 13 people, including four littles who all nap at different times

:D

Still. Think of the trees that are going to die to print that bill out.

Should be awesome though.

Hey rcostello1 Would you mind telling me the price you got for the cat. 3 We are on a waitlist for the CA-FL and if we get a call...I don't want to faint....:earseek: You can PM if you would like!

Thanks so much!

Sadly just look at the high end of the prices and you will see me! I didn't quite get it and I spoke to a very nice, helpful person on the phone this AM...but I feel a little better now.

$5199 for the first 2 people and $1699 for the other 3. You do the math, I don't need to see that number in print!! Actually with insurance only it's $16,279. At least I "saved" $100pp for the extra 3. haha! If you look at the prices on the list for PC cruises $5199 is the top for a cat 3. But the woman on the phone said that the current price is even higher, so I guess I will be happy I waitlisted when I did. And quite honestly I guess that is true, here's why:

Today I can book 2 category 7 rooms (5 people) for $16,478. That is $199 **MORE** than my one category 3 room. Now my original reservations were $13,179 so the cat 3 is more than our original reservation by a mere $3,000.

Considering today's prices I guess I will be happy with what I am paying. I certainly can't afford a category 3 all the time and will have to work hard to pay for it, but I sooooo think it's worth it. The 5 of us will be very happy having a dining room table and wet bar. It sort of is like having 2 rooms since there are 2 bathrooms, and the one in the bedroom is so roomy!

Did I mention how excited I am??? :) 2 out of the 5 of us (me being 1) are crusing May 29. CAN'T WAIT!!

I'm going out to buy Miracle Gro for my money tree!!!!!!!!!
