Hi there,

I'm planning our first family trip to Disneyland (my second trip) to take place this August and am wondering about hotel accomodations. I plan to purchase an annual pass either beforehand or right when I get there.

Would it be a better idea to stay on-property at Paradise Pier or Disneyland Hotel (with AP discount) or stay someplace off property that is within walking distance of Disneyland. We're only planning on going to Disneyland/CA Adventure for two days and doing other things on other days (staying a total of seven nights).

We need a suite that has 2 queen beds and a sofa sleeper.

What do you suggest? Which hotels have you stayed in at your prior trips that offer suite rooms?

Our budget is around $100 a night, but we can go over if that is really unrealistic.

Thanks,
David

Hi,
Currently I am doing a lot of searching myself. I stumbled upon this area through mousesavers.com which has a lot of great ideas. I am using my Entertainment Book travel discount (which I pd $10 plus shipping for) and got excellent rates ($51.75/day including tax for 2 queens). I have to buy tickets separate, but found several sources for those. getawaytoday has great pkg deals to which include tickets and are priced per day and not person, so I am looking at suites (which is an option) for 2 families which may end up being cheaper than my regular room thru entertainment . We are going the 1st week of June, so I have to get busy and make up my mind! Good luck!

the suites are discounted, but still way too much for us. We got an AP rate for a regular room of $59.00 sun/$79.00 m-thur. at PPH this March (our spring break). I asked about a suite and was told the AP discounted rate was $400.00/ nite!!!! YIKES!!! That is a little too rich for my blood. That being said, the rooms at PPH are very big and have 2 double/queens and a fold out sofa. It is a mini sofa sleeper, but if you have 2 small children, you may be able to fit them head to head. I mean ages 3-4. We had 5 in our room....2 adults, and a 16, 14, and 10 years old, and we were fine. The room had a fridge, but not a microwave, and we used the DLH neverland pool twice. We loved it and had a blast. Although alot of the hotels on Harbor Blvd. are actually alot closer to the parks than PPH. Have a great trip!:sunny:
