I'm guessing your real question is what kind of luggage you have and not what you like.

For checked bags, I like hard-sided spinners because dealing with a 28-30" bag is much easier when it can roll on four wheels rather than two. They usually have a couple of choices at Costco (usually Ricardo Beverly Hills or Samsonite, sometimes Kirkland Signature). I look for the one with the sturdiest wheels and zippers.

For carry-on bags, I actually prefer bags with no wheels at all such as the Tom Bihn Tri-Star or Aeronaut-45. If you are able to shoulder the weight, it is much easier to get through crowded areas when carrying a bag rather than pulling a wheeled bag. Also, the airlines never ask to check the size of my bag, but people with smaller wheeled bags get pulled aside to the bag sizer.

If you can't or don't want to carry your carry-on, then I've had good luck with TravelPro roll-aboards. Be careful with the size of roll-aboard luggage. The airlines measure including the wheels and the bag manufacturers measure without the wheels. Airlines (especially European airlines, but U.S. carriers as well) are becoming more and more persnickety about bag sizes.

Oh yeah ... if money is no object, the Lamborghini of roll-aboard bags is the Briggs & Riley Baseline carry-on. It has a brilliant compression system; you pack the bag with it expanded, then zip it up and press down and the compression system ratchets down.

The ability to be the envy of the road warriors on your flight will come at a price of $519, however.

We put together a set of Disney luggage from American Tourister last year and it is holding up very well. Cute and better quality than I expected for the price, especially considering they frequently have 25% and 30% off promos.

The Pelican pro gear and Samsonite S'Cure are really nice, but I wouldn't consider them any more secure than any other luggage because ... TSA Locks. If you buy any of the name brand cases with built-in TSA locks, then everyone has those keys since the Washington Post kindly published all of the masters. In the end, if a mal-intentioned baggage handler has the case out of your sight, they pwn it.

Now, if you are concerned about zippers failing; perhaps a hard case with clasps wont have that issue, but the clasps can fail as well (although, they don't usually fail in transit like zippers, so that would be a benefit).

Yes we have 2 29 inch pieces, teal and brown.
Then I have a brown carry on with wheels, which is really to big for planes but I use it for car travel.
