Suitcase Packable Breakfast and Lunch Food?

I was thinking of bringing peanut butter and bagels but have read that peanut butter and other dense things tend to trigger a bag search at the airport. I guess it looks like a bomb?

I'm not thrilled about my bag going thru a search behind the scenes just because I wanted to bring some peanut butter. Anyone have any experience with this?

I took a medium size jar of PB the last time we went. I checked a small suitcase with PB, fruit leather, toddler meals, cheese, canned veg. (the grandkids love green beans etc cold from the can), dry cereal, granola, oatmeal etc. and as far as I know it didn't cause a search but again, we checked it so no big deal if it did.

The coffee in the room makes a pretty weak and untasty brew. I always bring my own. But you may want to get the filter packs -- or else bring filters. It's been so long since I was there, it can't remember the size of the pots but I think they are the small ones so you may need the small filters. (I still would go with the filter packs - I like it strong and didn't want to mess with filters).

Everyone already mentioned what I bring for breakfast. Not quite as healthy but my DH likes Pop Tarts - they travel well. I also did the bagels, peanut butter, apples and granola bars.

Bought for but not used (trip cancelled) were these boxes with a ceral and bowl, fruit juice and breakfast bar in them. They sounded good and we were going to get milk at the resort. I ended up giving to a coworker for his children but I hope to try them on my Feb trip this year.

HAVE FUN!!!! :thumbsup2

We packed a loaf of bread in a shoe box to go with the peanutbutter
Fiber One bars or any garnola bars

That's a really good idea - I'll have to remember that trick! :)

With as much as airlines now charge for extra bags, packing a shoebox with a loaf of bread may be a bit on the extravagant side depending on your packing needs.

Loaves of bread are available at resort gift/sundry shops.

If we're going REALLY cheap, I think I have read on the boards that you can get packets of peanut butter for free as a condiment in the food court.

We were thinking about bringing some bagels and cream cheese to the airport to eat before our flight. But I'm not sure if the cream cheese will make it through security???:confused3

I am flying to WDW, but no one in my party is checking bags, are any of the food items discussed here going to get taken from us? Peanut butter jars are probably bad, but what else?

No it won't. But, you can make up the bages with the cream cheese before you leave home. Wrap them in plastic and they will make it through security. Just like you can't bring jars peanut butter and jelly but you can bring through peanut butter and jelly sandwiches.
