Suggestoins for getting the best deal.

I am planning a trip to WDW next June. Would like to treat my mother to six nights at AKL concierge (as this will be her last trip due to decling health). How would you suggest I proceed to get the best deal on a room rate for AKL next June? (I know discounts aren't available this far in advance.) Is it worth purchasing AP to get a good rate even though I'm only planning on one trip in a years time. What are your suggestions?

You do not need the AP in hand to call and ask about AP rates so I would hold off buying the AP untill you were sure you got an AP rate and that that was the best rate out there. Most years the AP rate gets you the biggest discount but that is not how it appears this year. It looks like the codes that anyone can use are getting the same rate if not better so if you were not planning multiple trips within the 12 month period then the AP is not the way to go.
