Suggestions wanted for Memorial Day night

During the day we'll go to Epcot, but what do you suggest for Monday evening? Would DTD Shopping be too crowded? Go back to Epcot for Illuminations, or would we be better off waiting til later in the week? Unfortunately, the water parks close at 6:00, MK and MGM are both probably way too crowded, and although we're DVC members, we can't pool hop that day/evening. We'd really like some ideas-never been to WDW at Memorial Day before, not quite sure what to expect.

I think you have some good ideas there...of course, I have never been to Disney during Memorial Day weekend, so I have no idea how crowded it is that night, but Downtown Disney sounds like alot of fun!! I also think your suggestion of Illuminiations is a great idea as well!!

What about Boardwalk? It is alot of fun to rent a Surrey Bike and ride around Boardwalk...you can also play arcade games, have some popcorn, do some shopping, watch the street performers, play some carnival games....

Usually the parks aren't so crowded on Memorial weekend. I think it is because it is a holiday where people go camping and do outside stuff. I think most of the locals are doing other things which cuts down on the crowds.

We're going to be there over the holiday weekend too, and I posted a similar question last week. Based on the responses, we decided to do Epcot that night, the rationale being that it's a larger park, so if the crowds are bad, perhaps they'll at least be spread out a bit.

Who knows? I'm hoping the trend of low crowds continues for us, but I'm not holding my breath.

If we didn't have DS5 and DS3, I think it would be really fun to resort hop that night. Someone suggested the Boardwalk--that sounds like a great idea!
