we were hit pretty bad by Charley, everything is still a mess, and we were without power for 6 days. On top of that, I am taking care of my newborn. We live a few minutes from the coast, and this new storm is looking very unfavorable for us. I feel like I cannot bear to go thru the no power thing again. DH & DD have a ressie for a 1 bedroom at BWV Sun night, I was not planning on going as the baby will be only 6 weeks. But now I'm thinking of getting out of dodge on Thurs and extending our stay at BWV, because even though Orlando might be hit, it will be safer than being on the coast, and also I figure Disney probably has a handle on their power situation. If evacuation occurs on Fri, I-4 will be gridlocked(we've been there before) Now, my question is, I have only 20 points left this year, I'm thinking of trying to get Thurs night on pts and Fri & Sat on cash. Could they tie all this together so I wouldn't have to switch rooms, and what would the cancellation policy be, do they give you a break when there is an "act of nature) going on. I just want to be somewhere comfortable, with power, and I don't want to have to take the baby on a Disney bus or anything, no parks, etc. Any suggestions as to our situation would be quite welcome, thanks!

I would call MS and get out of dodge! From all accounts, it looks like Frances is predicted to hit Orlando on Sunday. At least if and when it does hit, you and your family would all be together, and not worrying if the other was safe.

My best friend was at Candlestick park in '89 when the earthquake struck San Fran. She said the worst hours of her life were while she was wondering if her infant son was OK on the other side of town.

Go. Better safe than sorry!

Best of luck to you and all those in FL.

Hey there neighbor!:wave:

I'm in Palm Coast and contemplating the same thing:confused: We were very lucky and only lost power for about 16 hrs or so with Charley with minimal damage but this next FRANCES storm looks like it may be coming right for us. My thinking is that even though Orlando will get hit too - they're not only inland but Disney is as we all know, a world all it's own and didn't loose power completely in all areas from what I understand with Charley so it's got to be better than being here on the coast without it -- I have a dd who's only 11mos too so I'm totally hearing you;) I had a cash ressie booked with an AP rate for the wknd after Charley for my b-day that I canceled last minute because I was afraid the weather wouldn't be favorable and the CM I talked to said they're VERY lenient with cancelation policies when it comes to a hurricane -- but not a regular storm. It has to be hurricane status -- now that was CRO with a cash ressie talking not points thru MS but I'd call and ask MS about it. If you can do it, I'd go -- like I said, I'm contemplating the same thing at the moment.

Stay safe::yes:: :wave2:

If it were me, I'd call and get as much info as possible, and if you have to switch rooms, I'm sure that they will send you help since you have a newborn.

I wish I could do something to help!! (other than packing up blankets, water and canned goods...) I'll be saying prayers for you guys down in Florida, and that the El Nino grows strong enough to disrupt the hurricane season for the rest of this year.
